  • this was the 2006-2007 Paraclete High School Tinikling Team...this was the last year i coordinated the dance. I was somewhat involved in the 2007-2008 team but after graduating I had other things to do. I would like to thank the world for making Pt 1 the second most viewed tinikling video on youtube (last i checked). I am honored by the profound effect we had as a team on the all the tinikling videos AFTER ours as we see some of the steps, transitions, and combinations that we worked so hard on creating used in subsequent tinikling videos all over the united states and the world. I am open for questions or even help via skype or other video chatting platforms if anyone is interested in face to face coaching for their own tinikling event!

I'm pure Filipino and this performance is truly amazing! That classic dance looks easy in the eyes but trust me its not easy to learn. Lots of body coordination, trust with your partner and the bamboo guys and PATIENCE. It might get your feet bruised at first tho the outcome of teamwork and performance quality is worth it.

I'm embarrassed that I never took part in dancing the Tinikling and these American Filipinos do it with ease and grace! Good job guys.

The Filipinos in our country made it look easy but in the back scene of all this, they have to practice all over and over again so their foot will not get stuck on the bamboo sticks. We have our losses and wins. I love when they're letting our tinikling dance come to life and I'm so proud.

Tikling is a flightless bird that consumes the rice seeds spread out by farmers, so the farmers set up these bamboo traps to catch the tiklings
