My YouTube channel almost got hacked by a sponsor!

- My CZcams channel was almost taken over by a hacker who approached me as a vpn company with a sponsorship proposal.
This was a very well executed social engineering attack, but I was glad that I didn't fall for it, and nothing bad happened.
But if this were to happen to a non-technical creator (or any technically illiterate person in general), they would've probably fallen for it.
I've heard news that several CZcams accounts are already being hacked recently, I guess these were all a team of scammers who are targeting creators and taking over their youtube accounts.
If you're a youtube creator too, please be aware of such scams!

You can do a whois lookup on their domain, you will find that the domain is registered on Feb 8th!

I almost got myself hacked too, twice in a 2 weeks time gap… everything that happened to me is exactly the same as you described it… However, I started getting suspicious about it when I saw the file size (1KB, like seriously😂) but I didn’t really care about it since I’m not really a great at computer stuff, I thought after I unzip the file it’s going to change size (I know that’s silly😂) luckily it didn’t open even after multiple attempts, then I messaged them and I explained what had happened but they never message me back… but two weeks later another one came through, but this time when I saw the pattern of their mails, with the same type of link, I just turned whoever that was down… after that experience, I tightened the security of my account.

At very first i taught that content was good, but later it felt me more interesting that you focus on all different areas on computers like programming, security etc.. This video is really amazing, i mean you have done the complete Malware Analysis of it and finally found the intention of the hacker.. just backup your data somewhere and re install your OS, and also make sure u clear all passwords u saved on your browser u usually use for your private accounts like youtube or any else... do that first then reinstall your Operating system coz the server remote pc will nolonger have access to your C://

@@ainovice6634 There are many websites that allow you to buy Windows license key in very less price. I don't know how much rupees, but it will be very much below Rs.2000. I think its 5 or 10 dollars. And also, many youtubers also get sponsorships from those websites (and they are legit) so if you find those youtubers and use their promo code, you will save even more money and maybe get the windows license key under Rs. 1000 :)

Do you have antivirus on your computer? Try to see if it can remove the virus. If not you need to re-install windows. Or even better use Mac or Linux.
