Strap in. I have theories. I think the one in the box was a different clone. She didn't want current clone to end up like that, so she helped him escape. (Note Military Jeff has shorter hair as box clone is taken away.) Now, Military Jeff is trying to get back to normal life with his wife, but she's depressed about the escaped clone. Then Clone Jeff writes to her, and she writes back, and Military Husband Jeff sees them. He goes off by himself. She shows up, and he confronts her and then cries on her (bonfire scene). Later, we see Clone Jeff come back passing Military Jeff's grave (confirming that this takes place in the future. The dates are 2054 - 2143.) New pictures on the wall. She's old now too. He stats with her until she dies and then burries her too. He doesn't age cause he's a clone. A yellow leaf is a dead leaf. And now all he has is a mind full of memories... ghosts, as he goes on by himself. Those are my thoughts, anyway. Also, JEFF WHAT THE HELL???!!!

basically after she helps the clone escape the real jeff (her husband) stops the project of creating these robots and comes back home. the box in the beginning shows the other robos he was creating. the one in the astronaut suit is the scientist jeff. but the wife is unhappy cause she now has feelings for the robot and its not the same for her with her husband. the robot jeff and the girl start start writing letters to each other over the years. you can even see the scientist jeff getting jealous and angry over it. now many years have passed. he comes back to visit her only after the real jeff has passed away. those years on the grave are according to thai calender. which is 534 years ahead. so when he does finally return scientist jeff is passed away already and she is old and dying. and he hasnt aged cause hes a robot. he says one final goodbye to her and she's gone too. but forever love for her:)

the astronaut is the human jeff. at the beginning of ghost, the wife was looking longingly at the rocket which jeff is in.
