Costco doesn't sell Louis Vuitton bag. They sell fake knock offs
This used to be a bigger problem in the early 00's. I ended up buying what was probably a fake Fendi from Loehmanns. This was sad because Loehmanns did use to sell legitimate brands and it's also possible they didn't know at the time but there was a big scandal when it turned out to be fake.
This is why I only buy from the Louis Vuitton site...just to be extra safe and secure
LV at Costco!? Wow, that raises so many red flags (especially with the incorrect spelling). Even reputable resale sites can make mistakes with authenticity which is why I am so hesitant to purchase from anywhere except the boutique.

Costco sells Coach, Kate Spade & Tory Burch handbags that are not in season or part of the regular non-outlet collection. The prices are not that much cheaper than if you were to buy these items at Coach, Kate Spade or Tory Burch stores or sites. I always doubt the authenticity of these handbags. I wouldn’t spend hundreds of dollars on designer handbags at Costco let alone thousands of dollars.

Costco has a history of selling counterfeit Gucci and Fendi bags, and refunded customers due to the questionable authenticity of their products 👍🏽

I completed the intellectual property concentration at my law school, and I remember reading about an infringement lawsuit involving Tiffany & Co and Costco’s “Tiffany-style rings.” Costco ended up having to pay massive fines for copyright infringement. I won’t be surprised if an incredibly similar fact pattern is happening here.
Yes!! I’ve heard of that case too and Costco was ordered to pay $21M, but it was recently overturned on appeal 😬 Costco also settled a Michael Kors lawsuit for a bait and switch ad. Very shady all around! Congrats on finishing IP, that’s a tough subject but can be one of the most interesting 🤗

All I could say is the prices are so close. I just asked you about Burlington wow now Costco. If a replica was my goal I would run straight to China for $50 this is as bad as the human hair lace front wigs 3 for $40 when we all know the cost of one is $700-$1500 typical Facebook advertisement,and people were falling for it. The sad thing is that people really believe they are buying something legit from Costco which they feel it’s a reputable company. I just read a comment from a man saying the reason it’s at Costco is because they are not perfect hence the discount. It’s just all very disturbing.

Same here. I hear of SO MANY problems with LV bags being poor quality and the boutiques not standing behind their products Personally, I just avoid the brand. Besides, there are so many fakes out there of monogram items they just look tacky and cheapen the value of authentic bags.
Gentleman's Gazette did a video on the weekend bag, and commented on the different tones of metal hardware, and list of rules for care basically confirming the lack of functionality (the host of the video made a joke by petting the bag.)

This is really interesting and I'm glad you brought up this topic. I love shopping at Coscto (Canada) and I have also seen high-end bags and wallets like Prada, Burberry, Givenchy, Celine, Chloe, and Fendi; and contemporary bags like Kate Spade, Tory Burch and Michael Kors. I checked their website (Costco.ca) and it states "Since Costco is NOT an authorized dealer for this product, the manufacturer's warranty does not apply. In place of the manufacturer's warranty, Costco will refund your purchase price if you are not completely satisfied with this product". This has opened up my eyes and it also surprised me to see those bags at wholesale, also which not saving alot either. Thanks sharing this great info!
Great video! In my opinion, it seems logical that a luxury handbag from any of the major 3 brands (Chanel, Hermès, and LV) would never source their goods to Costco, which is a wholesaler. The luxury brands are all about exclusivity, which is the opposite of the premise of Costco (saving by buying in bulk).

A few years ago, I remember that Burlington Coat Factory was selling LV bags... they were in clear display cases, chained to the display tables. Has anybody else ever seen this?

Hey, there is now one official reseller who has some LV bags and accessories and it's 24s. The prices for us are better because they don't have tax. I'm from Europe and the prices are mostly really close to this from LV boutique.

24s.com is the website for the Le Bon Marché department store in Paris which has an official LV boutique.

Your video just reminded me of those people that looted the LV stores..if they ever brought them back for repair..the salesperson can obviously see that the ID is not listed as sold from any outlet or online.

What about those online websites like Gilt and Rue LALA? Are they reputable?
Have not had a problem with Ruelala- however I have never purchased the vintage products. The new Valentino, Prada, etc brands are all genuine. I think the vintage items are similar to purchasing from any second hand website.
Gilt is a reputable site, they are not selling brand new LV bags but other ones can be brand new like Gucci, fendi

The only time I’ve seen designer bags at stores that shouldn’t have them are usually damaged items, photoshoot samples, or customer returns. These are usually sold by the brand or a department store (usually by the department store because we all know most brands just burn these things) to a liquidator who then sells it to discount resale stores. San Francisco had a wonderful designer discount emporium before it finally closed several years ago. It was very well known in the Bay Area and was where I would purchase my designer pieces when I couldn’t afford it in my early 20s. Nowadays, if I see Chanel or LV where it don’t belong, it’s because the items being sold are used and are part of a collaboration with a well known secondhand store. I remember seeing designer things at a Banana Republic flagship. It was strange.
I have a department store near me called Palais Royal ( kind of like a Kohl’s) and they sell used Louis Vuitton’s. They had several cases of them in the cosmetics section. I thought it was odd. Especially since the prices were about as much as you would pay for a new bag.

LV bags at Century 21 are pre-owned and the authenticity should be reviewed on a case by case basis 🤗
Have you seen the repourposed Louis bags? They are very popular in the cowgirl world. Lots of fringe added! We went into the LV store in NYC. The sales people loved our bags. Or they pretended to. Lol!
How is it that they don't get in trouble for selling counterfeit or sued by LVMH?
This is the question. The hidden answer probably lies behind deals LV makes that consumers will never know or understand. The name of the game is profit. If I were a betting woman, I would bet a large amount of money that LV makes money off Costco selling those items. I am in business and see how these side deals happen. The name of the game is "profit by any means."
Costco contracts with vendors meaning we are given a specific number of "inventory". It wouldnt be shipping from one of our warehouses, in fact, we would never even see the merchandise. This item would be shipping directly from the manufacturer. Why would we sell counterfeit products when we have such a generous return policy?
LVMH does not contract to sell through Costco, so if the bags are authentic they are likely sold by a third party vender not authorized by LVMH, similar to pre-owned bags from resellers and consignment shops within department stores. As I mentioned in the video, Costco has a troubled history of selling counterfeit merchandise and being sued by brands for trademark infringement and counterfeiting. They do have a great return policy and have taken the initiative to refund customers for counterfeit bags. I will discuss these issues in an upcoming video so please stay tuned 🤗

They sell Prada handbags on the Canadian website but w/o the manufacturer's warranty as they state they're "not an authorized dealer". So makes me wonder?? Great question.

That’s the same price I paid for my neverfull in Oregon. If you want to save money shop in states that don’t charge sales tax.

So what about eluxury? Back in the day there was a website called eluxury which sold LV and other high end items - all items were not discounted and sold at boutique prices. I bought several LV items which came with proper documentation. I no longer have the items as they were stolen when my home was broken into, but my insurance did reimburse me and acknowledged my eluxury receipts. I believe Neiman Marcus and saks sometimes carries LV items as well
ELuxury used to be the official online retailer for LV, but went away once LV began selling directly from their site. The URL is still in existence but apparently it’s owned by a mattress company now 😆

There have been rumors back in 2019 where a customer purchased a bag only to have it authenticated as a fake after and after getting a refund the customer stated that fashionphile re-listed the bag up for sale again even though the customer had already told them the item was not authentic, do you feel this is a concern?
The is a Navy Exchange near my place that sells a lot of LV Bags. But I buy my LVs in the LV store. I don’t want to deal with the doubt if it’s real or not. If you really want to buy LV products just buy it in the LV website or store.

I just got my first two pre-loved/pre-owned authentic LV bags purchased at the reputable Seller in Japan. 💕
Japan is great for resale bags, especially LV. You can typically find even better prices if you go a little further out, like Shinjuku.

The fact that LV doesn’t sell wholesale or does very little, that says it all. LV controls their stock.
I am a Costco member for a very long time and I also buy products online. COSTCO does not sell Louis Vuitton bags at all!! They have other brands likes Prada, Burberry, and Coach, but I never buy luxury handbags at Costco. I do business with Fashionphile all their products are authenticated.
Correct - Costco is not authorized by LV to sell authentic LV bags. The “Louis Vuitton” bags with incorrectly spelled style names that Costco listed on their website are likely counterfeit, or possibly pre-owned in which case the authenticity should be evaluated individually.

I think Dillard’s sells pre-owned bags from personal consignment - Burlington however is a hot mess and has been sued several times which I plan to discuss in upcoming videos 🤗

I saw that about a year ago Burlington Coat Factory was selling Louis Vuitton luggage and handbags it was said that these were bags that were used in photo shoots and that’s why Burlington is now selling them have you heard of anything like this and do you believe those are real. There was CZcams channel that made a video about it. The person who made the video went to a Burlington store and found them there. Do you think those were real ??

If another company purchases LV bags for photo shoots it’s possible they may resell it, however Burlington has been sued multiple times by various brands for selling counterfeits so I wouldn’t recommend them 👍🏽
Costco had Gucci Marmont matelasse in small and saint laurent niki leather in medium yesterday. They sold out in minutes.

I had a friend that worked for “coach” and they got all the imperfect bags for free around Christmas time. Seriously a small mark on the bag and they couldn’t sell them- so all employees received them. (They were told strictly not to resell them as it reduces coaches bags value). If the bags are real they could somehow be the imperfect throw away ones maybe? 🤔
I used to work for a premium fashion brand (and now work in the legal industry too🤣), absolutely nowhere near LV priced or anything, just an expensive high street brand and Costco had branded clothing items from my store that were clearly fake. The brand did have an outlet and started doing sales but the Costco stuff was obviously fake. It's absolutely so suspect and so weird that Costco and other reputable brand allows this stuff to happen! 🙃
I purchase LV bags and have watched some of your previous videos. I am sure that people who may want to work for LV, would find them interesting regarding the perks, pay, etc.
I actually was quite surprised that such a huge Corporation such as LV doesn't require a "Contract" for employees to sign that prohibits them from disclosing that information. Obviously people will disclose personally, but just surprised it's not prohibited on Social media. Being in Sales (Insurance for Large Corporations) for 30 years, I always had to sign a Contract to never disclose such information publicly. Not only regarding my clients, which I would never have done anyway, but salaries, bonuses, etc. That applied to me.

I went to the Macy's in Time Square the LV employee there told me that you can use Macy's gift cards to purchase in that location....so that's a good way to save money on LV if you ask family or friends to gift you Macy's gc....this was suggested to me a few years ago...by the LV employee...but I'm sure if you call the store they could let you know for sure if this policy still holds up.
I got a beautiful black chocolate bar vintage authentic Chanel from a reputable Japanese reseller in 2018 that I love and it's in great condition! Now that's the only place I look to for authentic preloved luxury items. I was so excited to see in your other video that you buy from Japanese resellers as well. New subbie and can we talk about the thick, volume of your hair! I'm ready for my blowout now that's it's fall😍. I love Costco for food, wine, dog food, etc ONLY 😄😄

If you want a bag to look good then Costcos will be fine. However if you want the legitimacy you really need to buy it from the ACTUAL store.
I've been the one in Sydney and it was kind of ..... snobbish. (Its not a place you feel good dressing too casually, which we did as we were in a hurry and ran 20minute to look for it).
Staff was GREAT but its not the type of environment I normally shop at. Staff treated as the same as other customers and offer us a drink as we were out of breathe. They understand we need to run back to the dock to not miss our cruise so they quickly got someone to serve us just for a quick look.
If you are buying a HIGH price item you might as well go to the store and experience the atmosphere where you actually have a legit receipt.
You might as well enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly staff.

There are LV boutiques in some Macy’s. Pre-owned LV bags at Dillards should be reviewed on a case by case basis 🤗
Macy's have LV boutiques inside their stores. Also, Gucci, Longchamp, and Burberry along with Coach, MK, RLL. They are all boutique stores.
My local banana republic-galleria DFW sells Some LV products. Also my local Dillard’s-willow bend mall sells LV products.

Burlington, TJ Max, Ross, Marshalls they are well known for selling fakes. I seen a LV at one of these stores before and I knew instantly they were fake the brown color was off.

I have no problem buying a look-a-like quality bag on the grounds that I like the bag. I don't want a counterfeit bag meant to fool people more like a bag styled along the lines of so and so bag. I have 3 purses ( two too many in my thinking) so as you would guess I won't be shopping for any LV items.
