The only way I can see Zidane coming around is if 2B gets a significant upgrade and they can all slot into an evade team

Man , I was thinking . First... The dagger passive from risol works on him ? Cause that one give 15 AOE resist, so it's good for him for survival. 2nd.... I have a doubt of how the - hate works. If he has - 7 or more will he be ignored by the enemies if he rush forward? And they will Atk instead other units ? Cause I have some ideas I wanna try with him if that works
Sadly no. The 15 AOE res from Rysol’s dagger doesn’t work on Zidane.
If you give Zidane hate down, This is how it would turn out:
If you are not running any initial hate (tank or bow tie):
- enemy will attack a minus hate unit if it is the only unit in range.
- If Zidane is further ahead than both his teammates but the enemy can only reach him, then the enemy will attack Zidane
- If the enemy can reach his teammates then they will go attack them first, beware of large AOE.
If you are running initial hate:
- enemy will prioritize the tank
- If Zidane is ahead and he is the only one in range of your enemy, they will attack him.
- If Zidane is ahead and enemy can reach the tank then they will ignore Zidane. But you have to factor in large AOE.

How does Rysol compare? I feel like Gumi played it safe making the ff9 units mediocre. Dagger seems replaceable by Macherie; Zidane by Rysol; and Vivi with DFina. I really dont think these weapon types and elements overlapping was an accident. I think this decision was driven by the fact holo vc’s are insanely expensive
Yeah everything is planned for sure. These newer units are upgrades to the older ones. Rysol functions very similarly with to Zidane. She is easier to build for high accuracy while Zidane has longer range and so more current utilities.
Rysol should get some upgrades soon, but as it stands, Zidane is slightly better than Rysol. Because his damage output is higher and can seal courage removal.
What I don't get is why vivi can have his teammates seal re reraise removal, but zidane has to do it himself only..... is like gunmi just gave up on mainline FF MC because they know everyone will pull anyways.....if they think people are playing these games because of stupid oelde and his girlfriend WE ARE NOT. So they should stop making everyone broken BUT mainline MCs.
Yeah… I think you are right. Why put so much effort on an item that every customer would want regardless. I hope the trend doesn’t continue.

Yeah, his damage is not the best, especially without tetra cards & the Ultrous esper. His survivability can’t really be helped, he has to rely on his teammates for AOE res buffs. Or try to keep him in the back during the first 2 turns.
Zidane IS SO WEAK I RECOMMEND everyone should skip
