First step to indexing gears, is to align your hanger. Almost always the hanger is Not perfektly aligned out of the box. Makes it so much easyer and shifting much better.
Ever since I learnt about that, I started doing it on almost any bike I've never worked on before. No hanger is aligned unless my hanger alignment gauge tells me so.

Can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere and havent had the time to take the bike to the LBS: 12 speed ultegra di2 wont shift into the last 4 or 5 smallest cogs on cassette. Went into the etube app and it says im in the smallest cog on the the digital image and yet in actuality im half way up the cassette. Any suggestions? Only used the groupset 10-15 times max. Thought it might have something to do with crash mode but i played around with that and it did nothing. Please help Shimano!
Genuinely your best bet is to have this checked over by your local bike shop. It could be a multitude of things and if it’s crashed potentially the mech is damaged of hanger is bent
If you have a oversized pulley wheel kit installed in your shimano drivetrain do you have to add a few more links than the recommended? Thanks for the info.
Ask the Company Man about a problem, and he'll give you the 'company solution', handed down from Head Office on high. Good mechanics know when to read the tech notes, and know when to experiment and ignore the tech notes.
It was all going so well, and then in a demonstration he double, maybe even triple clicked the torque wrench. And any qualified technician will know why that is pointless and silly.
And your point is? That this makes the whole video useless? How can he do that? That took at least a second extra, totally unacceptable!!! Glad we have experts like you, which reveal such serious errors.
@@actonblue2012 You don't over torque anything doing that... let alone break a bolt... The only thing would be a faulty torque wrench but then you would break the bolt the first time.

Personally I would always buy the best one you can afford and have a variety of different ones. I have three different ones

I need a shimano dealer. I'm looking for a 8 speed mtb cassette CS-HG400- 8 and a 8 speed mtb chain CN-Hg40.

Yes you probably would need a longer chain

Good mechanics also know how to do it right. Julian is a very good mechanic
Anyone count the links on their old chain, then the new one and do it that way, losing count several times in the process.... 🙋♂️

It's not a good sound when you break a bolt because you've over torqued it with too many clicks.
