I definitely related when Selorm mentioned how she felt when she was younger about the neons on the dark skin. I felt the exact same way when I was younger. Scared that it would highlight my dark skin but now i'm like "YAAS highlight the melanin!!"

Fact that I will not argue: Neon colors (specifically yellow and green) look bad like 75% of the time on white people, but on dark and deep skin tones it is the best possible color to wear and it looks amazing 1000% of the time. These are facts.
Lourdes Lopez I look awful in yellow for like the opposite reason! I am so insanely pale that you can see my blood through my skin so my skin looks so purple and when I wear yellow it only accentuates it.

I have light olive skin and I for sure have it. Especially with purple, lime green and electric blue. However I recently have accepted some electric blue pieces in my wardrobe it's all in your head really.

Really? That so surprising to me but I guess I get it. I think bright colors look so much better on darker skin than light. For some reason I think white people look like immature childish adults with bright colors while poc just make the color pop! and the contrast is just so so beautiful! I noticed in high fashion black models are typically put in white and bright colors. I'm assuming it's for this reason.

I've noticed a few POC in the comments saying they feel the same about wearing bright colors. I'm surprised because I think the contrast is so beautiful and looks like high fashion while on white skin just looks kind of childish.
I agree so so much! Ever photo I see of dark skinned POC in neons is *chefs kiss* but it's so hard for white skin to actually look good in. The glow of melanin, man.
