This looks so much like the Bak Mei I practiced. Interestingly, Dr. Yang Jwing Ming's White Crane in his videos looks so much like the Jook Lum Tong Long I did, also.
would you happen to have some links of that tong long by any chance? I've been looking for things similar to YJM's white crane but that seems rare.
@@darth8freak My Jook Lum teacher had also done White Crane in the past, so, there was likely some cross over. The 2 systems are very similar. There's a number of CZcams videos purportedly showing Southern Mantis. You may find many of them are Chow or Chu Gar and rather stiff and "karate-ish", and, at least one supposed Jook Lum instructor seems associated with George Dillman of all people, so, best to avoid him, but, the closest thing to Jook Lum as I learned it is Roger Hagood's CZcams videos; they're pretty much advertisements for his on-line training, but, I've seen some of his DVDs in the past and the guy is genuine. After I ordered his second set of DVDs, he actually contacted me by Email to encourage me to ask him any questions I might have. I guess he gathered I was serious about learning it. His CZcams videos should have the links you need. Also, chowgar.webs.com is Paul Whitrod's site where he sells Chow Gar videos. I highly recommend the Chow Gar fighting series vol 3 video Dim Mak Seizing Hands. It isn't as crazy as it sounds, just ignore the acupuncture stuff and use common sense for obvious target points and it has some solid moves. If you're into developing Jing, I suggest the Fut Sao form and the Yee Kup Sarm Bo Jin form DVDs. You should develop the basics, first, and for that, google the Hurricane Fist website and order vol 1 of David Welther's Chuka Southern Mantis DVD as it will teach you the basic stances and stepping in the one disc without you having to order a series of DVDs, his other DVDs have lots of 2-man drills for internalizing the principles, including doing them with stepping and angling, which is the 1st time I've seen that. Hopefully, this will get you started without you having to buy more than you have to as these things can get pretty pricey. Feel free to Email me with any further questions.

That's a demo. He won't arm his student for a video. It's made for use in pure combat but there's no pure combat in this video. Think of a knife. You can give knife classes without actually slashing people.
