I pulled it out at the end. Was racing a thunderstorm and had all my gravel in the parking lot. Had to hurry to prevent it from all washing away in the rain. Made it by a few mins.
Not a good choice for the base of a hot tub. Recommend crushed gravel instead; it will settle less.
We packed it. It’s as hard as concrete
Sand doesn't drain very well and can shift with weight. Gravel overcomes these issues.

@@Imavet15 it is called “Breeze”. It is crushed granite. Got it from the local material yard
LOL predrill the holes for the lag bolts and get an impact
Had to get the job done right then and there and only had limited tools! Sometimes you do what you gotta go haha

Lag bolts are too short
They are fine and the project is holding together very nicely. Thank you for watching
3/4 stone would have been the better choice, fine sand on top doesnt allow for proper drainage.
