Imagine the backyard camping sleepovers at Lil Somni's house! Every kid in the neighborhood will be passing around the lore of that experience for years.

The scales of fortune will forever be balanced. Like the poem O Fortuna says, "lady fortune, like the moon is forever changing, ever waxing, ever waning".
This story resonates with me in a lot of ways. Losing someome and letting your life be a product of chance and accepting what life has for you because you cant/dont know how to take control of your life. It's rough but the best thing you can do is move forward and find yourself despite what life throws at you

I'm glad this story resonates, but if this story has a moral it is the opposite, you can't give up just because of one bad incident. You still have to keep the will to live life to the fullest.
@@kbee225 I agree with you. You push through no matter what. Life doesn't stop because of a traumatic event and it's up to you to dictate how you move forward with the life after adversity.

Taking control of your life isn't possible. Your life is fundamentally a result of choices made for you, that you did in your teenage years, chance and factors that you aren't aware of.
My life was decided by schools I couldn't go to as I could've gotten permanently injured or worse. And a 14 year old's understanding of higher education.

It's not often I hear a story that makes me confront some internal stuff. My compliments to the writer. I've been feeling like I'm on an edge lately and, while my circumstances differ from the protagonist, I still gleaned insight from his plight. I'm going to take charge of my life before I let miss fortune rinse me. Thank you.

Damn i got the same vibe too with the "I met the devil" story. The one where a guy meets a beautiful woman at a bar that turned out to be Lucifer. Love your stories, man! I can't wait for the next part of Borrasca to come out!
Very interesting take on the dilemma of trauma inflicted indecision. You feel out of control, so you let chance or luck take over.
I like how the main character took control back and changed his life. He was able to use the pain of losing his parents to become a paramedic. I’d like to think that he was one of the most empathetic EMT out there.
Bad things will always happen, grief and trauma will always be there but you can use that pain to give the tiniest bit of comfort to someone else.
I always do.

Damn that story was super messed up like i get why it all happened to him but for her to come and play with his kid thats a straight slap to the damn face

Best part is Miss Fortune probably isn't actually betting anything major with the girl; she's most likely just trolling him.

@isaak5615 took me a minute to figure it out, but the DAUGHTER rolled the dice. So either the daughter is going to die soon or the author of the story completely forgot that she was supposed to be a force of nature rather than some petty spirit 😅
I graduated high school last Friday I’ve always struggled to keep friends they just keep moving to cities or other states and your videos have really helped me over the years especially on lonely nights so thank you keep up the good work dude

And I know it’s tough moving so much and losing old connections over reasons you can’t control, it sucks to go through that, it’s sorta the hand you’re dealt with and anytime I thought about times I’ve been basically forced to move cause of my family situations I sorta get a little upset or bitter towards them as I’ve been in that situation countless times now, but all I wanted to say is it’ll all be okay in the end, you’ll make some connections eventually, they might not even be in-person ones but that’s okay too, just focus on your mental while you can rn and everything’s gonna be good later on

@@Darksomnium it’s hard to choose but my personal favorites are Tommy Taffy and the girl that the universe forgot; both had a sense of realism in terms of its themes. Tommy Taffy is a soul crushing written story but one that keeps the listener on the edge as if they were actually witnessing the traumas endured throughout the story.
Great job overall! RomNex sounded especially good in this narration. I love how thought provoking the stories you choose to read are as a rule, Ronnie, and I've never regretted subscribing to your channel.

She's not really a villain, it almost feels she's an anti-hero. Trapped for all eternity with not free will to exercise. She is bound and has no choice but to do the things she does and is jealous of humans for having the freedom of choice and gets angry when Reynolds chooses to live a life without exercising his free will. I wonder if she even controls chance or is just merely aware of the outcomes, somehow linked to each chance outcome. And if she did control the odds, she then choose to let Reynolds win the game. Even her taking her dad's life does not feel evil, just that chance needs to be balanced. If something good happens somewhere, something bad happens elsewhere, that is the nature of chance. So she had to balance the odds. She choose to do that to his dad so that she could give him what she promised. And even her acting cunning in it the end could be her trying to scare him once last time to make sure he never goes back to being his old self again.

I find myself at the end of most DS videos quietly hollering out loud something like… “woo hoo hoo DAYUM!” 😂 This was one of those videos.
I really liked this story and the VA for the characters. I even don't mind her sightings after the bet was done; if she's Chance, it's probably that she could be everywhere at once and winning just made the main character able to see her now. It's the monster form I don't like; I think it's very tacked on and hokey. If she just gave off menace looking like a human I think it'd be 10/10.
