    This is very impressive.
    Thumbs up for REC panel 👍

    Can you explain why At 6:49 in the video you cover nearly half the REC panel with the blanket and you say it's almost half, showing the Amperage at 6.7 then when you lift away at 6:56 the blanket is only about one-quarter of the panel ?

    I did some research on why the REC performed so well. It apparently works like a tipple cut with 4 areas that can be shaded but they are arranged in stripes from top to bottom rather than in a cross. The Trina in the video was just half cut with 2 areas that could be shaded.

    Good grief, science much? Hardly a quantitative analysis. It looks like the Trina has higher current under ideal circumstances but is maybe more sensitive to shading. So what then is the percentage of shading where the REC performs better? Tossing random pieces of junk and articles of clothing on top of it doesn't make the point either way.

      Trina has higher current but lower voltage. Even though the experiment wasn’t precise (or very scientific) the difference is so large there’s little doubt the REC is performing better.

    Impressive but 50v panels mean 10 per 500v MPPT. 2022 Trina S+ tripple cut at 36v means 13 per 500v MPPT giving 30% better performance in low light. In the UK that helps.

    Thank you, Very useful. If shading isn't an issue, and if warranty is equal, Trina is the way to go.

    Would have been better to use a solar panel meter. Amps is only a 3rd of the story. Would have been nice to see the wattage. But still an interesting first demo.

    You sold me on REC solar panels. They are also built like a tank. Thanks!

    awesome video; really hard to believe how much better the REC is. Glad I went with local installer + REC panels on my heavily shaded house instead of Tesla with a couple bipass diodes and no optimizer. Quality makes a difference! Do you know how the voltages changed with each test?

    Nice vid mate i was wondering if mounting under roof rails would lose much input this is the answer i was looking for cheers

    The REC looked flimsy when you shook it! Your agreement over longevity applies to both! The white bits are actually the bus bars! The REC panel cells are wired in groups to give it a advantage in shading, the REC are double the price of the Trina.

    The Trina module produces a lot more energy for the relatively same size module. I've sold REC's, they're too expensive for what you get.

    Thank you very much for the very interesting test.
    Please can you tell what is the REC panel model? Is it ALPHA PURE-R series.
    Thank you very much

    nyc video, can u show us the volts of both solar panels too during the shading test, cuz i saw a video the solar which dont decrease the amp, drop voltage, which can be a problem with String inverters .

    It's very strange that when I cover the panel, nothing changes, and when you open it, nothing changes either.

    • @ziggi_opc
      @ziggi_opc Před rokem +3

      Yeap. Current measurement is not a correct comparison. Because the current was measured, not power. It seems the REC pannel have full serial cell connection so on shading it drop down the output voltage, but the current almoste the same ... when the trina is halfcell technology with 3 pairs parallel strings connected in serial. So the shading dropdown some voltage and and some current but total power will be sligthly high than REC.

    @DarylRaverty Před 7 měsíci +1

    Not very scientific at all just because you say that panel is better than the other one doesn't mean a thing. Trina has been around a long long time so I would expect if there's a 25-year warranty then they will be able to honour it.
