the woman is Maggy Luyten, one of Belgium's leading female rock singers. She's vocal coach and performed in a few bands. Arjen aked her in 2008 to work, or lets say perform with him.
She's a tiny powerhouse!!! 💕

You want to hear Floor and Irene together for a whole show watch (Ayreon) Star One - Live on Earth 2003 - and with the Master himself on guitar :D Yeah, 10 years before joining Nightwish and 16 years before finally getting attention with Beste Zangers - 90% of those hailing Floor never heard of here before that TV-Show in 2019 and anyway she's already arounf for a quarter century!

Try: and the druids turned to stone; Ayreon Universe Live. The singer is Damien Wilson and he is a very underestimated singer. In my opinion he is a wonderful singer. Or try Cosmic coil; the electric castle live and other tales.
The middle singer of the background singers is Lisette van den Berg. She has her own band Scarlet Stories. They have a great debut album: Necrologies.
The backup singers on the right , the one on the left is Floors sister .
Floor almost always participated with Ayreon - I recommend watching the "Star One - Live on Earth" Show, back then in 2003 (!!) with Floor & Irene Jansen as backing (and lead) vocalists! You'll also find Damian Wilson, or Sir Allen Russell, Arjen himself on guitar, and as ever Joost (keyborads) and Ed Warby (drums). I discovered Ayreon with that release then - oh and Floor as well ;D
It's amazing they did this live-show. To get that amount of talent on the stage is mindblowing.

Been to almost all his spectacles. A lot of them are in Tilburg in 013. He lives there, he is a hermit that's why there are so many studio albums. These shows are my happy happy happy moments in my life. And as we were in Tilburg for the whole day we saw a lot of the artists in the wild and especially Damian is so approachable. I love your enthusiasm. Also at 013 I saw Floor graduate from the Rock Academy, an amazing evening as well. After a show of Ayreon we always have to slowly adapt to the normal world. We wonder through the city and greeting all the Ayreonauts. And for the way back its always "Loser" as loud as we can and singing and head banging till we drop.
Only at ayreon.. the backup singers are lead singers in a band.. especially Lisette and Marcela are amazing!
Always fun to see Ayreon and this is a great song. He did start putting out live shows but due to the massive amount of singers he uses there are different singers live compared to the album

Yup. The "Jansen effect". Nobody can explain it but it's real. I'm a 50 year old fart, I've been listening to music my whole life and I love many great male and female singers. But Floor has something unique. I'm from Spain, and in flamenco music when a "cantaor" or "cantaora" (flamenco singer) has a magic, special, different, personal touch nobody else has it's called "tener duende" ("having elf" literally translated). You can't learn it on a music school, it can't be copied or taught. You either have it or you don't. Floor has it.
It's kind of unfair to the rest of the singers, because they are all absolutley amazing, but when Floor comes in the end it's like "Aaah, here SHE is!".
Totally agree with you... There can be 15 or 30 incredible musicians on a stage and all the people gonna have a heart stop once she arrives. She don't even have to do anything, just appear🤪 she's magical or a Jedi Master I'm not sure 😂

Everything about this performance is great, but Floor's entrance is one of the highlights. I love the twirl that she does--it's just perfect for some reason--and that look of triumph at the end when the audience cheers. She's only there for about 30 seconds, and delivers the same text as the background singers, but everyone remembers her.
Do Age of Shadows from this same show. Marco from Nightwish is in it.
I was there, at the show they recorded for the DVD. A once in a lifetime experience. The show only was played 3 times, at the same venue, in the Netherlands (close to where Floor apparently gew up and close to where Arjen lives). Already for logistic reasons, touring with this ensemble would not be possible due to all the own work they all have. Also Arjen does not like touring anyway. No surprise that those Universe gigs were sold out in no time and fans from about 60 countries and from all continents were there.

You should check out Michel Mills band Toehider. He did a few livestream shows recently and they were super cool. I recommend 'He's there then he does that!'. Dude has serious range.
I love Mike's voice. I have a few of his songs waiting to be uploaded here. He's a top tier musical artist

It probably is irene, floors sister, that's singing the high notes.
For a vocal range u should listen to Yannis who is with Beast in Black. He also has a killer cover of Nightwish's Ghost Love Score. He also can do harsh vocals.

Her new project Dark Horse, White Horse is a collaboration between her, former MaYan bandmates, and the drummer is from Epica.

If you do not mind a suggestion, since there are 3-4 standard Ayreon songs that "eeeeeveryone and their cat" reacts to, try from the same live show "Into the Black hole" and from the next Ayreon live (Into the Electric Castle live) try the song that Arjen himself chose to upload "Twisted Coil" with the amazing Damian Wilson in the vocals. Yes, it is *THAT* good. I was there and my jaw is still dropped somewhere in that building. Rest assured Arjen didn't pick that song by accident. Enjoy and I hope that you will try to listen to them - even offline. :)
P.s. Arjen had a Dutch Rap singer (Wudstik) sing prog in one of his albums and lives, so, yeah, there IS hope and yes send that email indeed. And he was good! Check "E=mc2 ayreon release party live" in youtube.
We actually watched that. I don't explain this to many on CZcams, but all of the things I react to are requests that people put in during stream. Even when I plan things out, it's because enough people rallied and asked for it on a certain date. Essentially, I don't have a say in what's reacted to :) Hope you can come to a stream in the future and add this to the queue!
