Your enthusiasm makes this video very enjoyable to watch. As a researcher, there is nothing more satisfying than someone who admires your work.
Thank you Brandon! I really appreciate your kind words :)
Really interesting discussion and demo, thanks both! Was fun to watch the problem solving to get the structure to include the element Lukasz selected!
Hey! Thanks - I must admit that Manuel is a brave guy... I hate doing live demos, for whatever reason something always comes up :P I love your channel BTW mate - awesome work on those videos!
Means a lot to me that you stopped by. I'm a patreon for a while now and guys, if you ever wondered how to make proper visualization - check this channel ... It's amazing!
That logo animation using topology optimization was such a good idea.
Ha! I'm really glad that you liked it :)
@@Enterfeahi, thank for your video, can I have your email address please?
Thanks for sharing this Lukasz...really interesting topic and insightful discussion.
Thank you Vishak! I'm really glad that you like it ;)
Very cool topic and very cool guest!
Indeed :) Thank you for the comment @Sharan!
Thanks! It was awesome.
Thank you Arjun! I'm glad that you like it :)
Mechanical engineer undergraduate here. I found this video great! Topology optimization is such a cool area.
Hey Chris! Thank you for the comment - I'm so glad that you like this :)
Indeed topology optimization is fun!
All the best!
@@Enterfea I was just about to send you an assignment I’m doing for my first FEA class where I wrote a 2D linear elasticity h-adaptive solver in Matlab... then I realized it was in greek! I have your videos playing in the background while I complete it (or maybe the other way around 😄). Cheers!
@@Az90981 Congratulations on the assignment Man! Good work :) I don't read greek at all... but at least I know most of the Greek letters :P
@@Enterfea That's a start
Really amazing topic to go with. Can we get the Power point presentation slides.....
very interesting!
Thank you!
50:00 you should have used multiple load cases... You can have one load case whit the force down and another with the force up.
Thanks for pointing this out - to be honest I don't know how this works in that soft, but I know that if you do a demo live... things "just happen" from time to time ;)
Topology optimization is of course not limited to structural mechanics, other physics can also be topology optimized if you can establish an interpolation scheme.
Thanks for the comment Rene - Much appreciated :)
Hi Manuel, can you recommend a good book for very beginner to learn topology optimization? Great theory with many examples would be great. My background is Civil engineering and I don't mind to do the coding to learn this.
As you can imagine, I can't really help you out here - but I'm sure Manuel will join us soon :)
Hi there, well the basics are very well covered in the Topology Optimization Book by O. Sigmund (www.springer.com/de/book/9783540429920). I know a few more German books but as I assume you're looking for something in English I would like to forward you to the Journal: Structrual and Multidisciplinary Optimization (www.springer.com/journal/158).
This would be cutting edge literature - so you're getting the latest developments in this fields. For a practical approach I can very much recommend the student books written by altair. They are good and free. And if you want to jump straight into programming - you can start with the 99 line matlab code for topology optimization. Hope this helps and best regards.
For the question at 29:00 check out Rafinex. They do stochastic top opt.
Thanks for the insight Rene!
