- This is a NOT a paid review nor do I keep this keyboard! All these thoughts are my own and the company/vendor does not get to see these edits to the video nor can see the streams due to the nature of it being a live stream.
Ahhh the Paragon. Deskhero asked if I wanted to take a look at this a second time since it's in stock now and build his personal unit and I didn't even hesitate. The Paragon is basically my cope U80. At least, thats what I remember it to be. I looked at this board over a year ago when the group buy ran and liked it a lot. The thick chunky bezels and pretty weight on the bottom are an aesthetic that I only like on some boards, and it works here. It also is a heavy board with it's big weight on the bottom. It also is heavy on the wallet at nearly 600 USD or 825 CAD before shipping.
The board sounded... divine. In fact, the only time I have taken it off my desk was for streams during the week since I didn't want to damage what wasn't mine. It feels good with a slightly firmer typing experience, but man oh man, that sound is something else. I was very happy with this, and even with the recommended foam, it sounded no where near foamy.
I remember loving this when it came out and I'm just as happy with it now. Who is the for though? Honestly, someone who wants this exact aesthetic of board with a solid sound profile and typing experience. It may be a tough sell since the price point is premium, but man this was a fun board.
Alternatives you may ask? Well, the Zoom75 and the new QK75n are great choices, but I would personally pick the Mode Sonnet as it balances design and cost.

I actually picked one up on the in stock extras from Ilumkb. I remember I missed the gb and was so sad cuz the look of the keeb was EXACTLy my all time endgame look with those thick bezels. White paragon, GMK Rudy and Geon black switches. Have not once regretted the buy as it is an absolute beauty.
We are eating goooood, so many alex ytb posts recently dayum i love it
personally I didn’t love the CJs with the stock ink tops, but with a gat yellow black nylon top, I really like them! Milky tops would also likely help dampen what felt like a thinner sounding top out to me. They’re also just so dang smooth! They sound great in this board, gotta give ‘em that!
I bought one of these and a couple things about it stand out: the daughterboard is green (apparently keebwerk had a miscommunication with the daughterboard manu), two of the four daughterboard screws aren't long enough to reach the threaded holes, and the knob isn't quite flush with the top. Everything else about the board is good to amazing quality and design, but at this price point, you expect everything to be perfect. I love typing on it though. The feel is very good, the sound and aesthetic (except for the knob gap) is beautiful, and the quality of the machining and coating is also appropriate to the price point. The OCD in me wants to buy a 3rd party daughterboard that's black, even though it's inside the case and you never see it.
Oddly enough the green daughterboard didn't bother me too much, but interesting note about the knob, the unit I got to build for this client is aligned nicely, but after a closer look it does look like it's a slight hair off from being centered. Im glad you're enjoying your unit!
Holy that keycap is petty good
Holy shit dude those keycaps with novelties combined is as much as my board 😂
@alexsoto what mouse are you using? I saw it in more than one video and honestly I love how it looks.
Totally agree - at that price you might consider getting Sonnet or qk75n instead.
What stabs are you using? Also do durock v2 screw in stabs have issues with gmk spacebars. Because i have 3 boards that have durock v2s and all of my gmk keycap spacebars pop off of the stabs on all 3 boards. It seems that the stem of the stab is too small so it comes off easily
durock stab are… let’s say obsolete. no reason to buy them anymore, just go with TX or Staebies
Just go with cherry+c3, everything else not worth it
@@aftl_ryz8549 china seem cheap but once you factor in all the sunken costs you're saving little to nothing.
I think the price for this board is a bit too steep even if at 50% off but that’s just my opinion
I agree. The zoom 75 and QK75n sounded way better, and it was cheaper. I'm confused as to what could compel them to sell this keyboard for $590 not including tax.
Yeah it's silly pricey. But it's a luxury item and if you like this particular simple design with that particular weight on it, that it may be worth it to some people. We have some crazy good alternatives these days like the Zoom75, Qk75N, and my personal favourite, the Mode Sonnet.
Given how the market is now, this price is robbery. I did want one but at this point it's not worth it.
But at the time, most people considered it reasonable. And that weight is gorgeous.
@@zivens.2407 Yupp it’s an odd transition of time periods of the hobby for sure!
Even at $350 they'd have a hard time selling through their inventory.
why my paragon75 is not working after assemble, i tried two PCBs both not working after connect to type-c, if battery connector should be replace?
Great sounding keyboard! EIGHT HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup! It came out at a time where that was still on the high end but made a sense, it’s a tough fit in today’s market!
you would love the beackspace on my keyboard
off topic, but i was wondering if you knew anything about the kyuu, i was looking on r/mm and saw one going for 200, so i was mad confused
i found that the build files or whatnot were released, so there are "clones" floating around everywhere. idk if you've tried any, but is the difference between the private made ones and the original kyuus that big?
Paragon more like my moneygone
what desk do you have
also what deskmat and cable
btd6 reference
LMFAO
HOLY 500 PASS
the pricing tho haha
z shaped desk
If this keeb was $180 the opinion would be "they had to cut costs so they made this very simple design" AKA exactly what is said about the Zoom75... But since it's almost $600, "the design is intentionally simple and subtle, it's a feature". They just price it ridiculously high and hope someone will bite. I cant't find a single reason to price this keyboard over even $250. It doesn't even feature an internal weight.
was gonna buy it because it looks decent/like a cool cheap daily but for 590 dollars for such a basic board, jesus
Tons of good alternatives, I listed a few of my favs in the video description at the end! A great alternative that is cheap is the ZOOM75 or QK75n.
most overpriced board I've seen in a while
nah it was pretty normal back when its GB ran. you might be thinking about S&R boards 😂
@@foggytypes I've used expensive boards before and this one has nothing going for it IMO, I could even see a QK or Zoom board being a better option.
@@riceshakes I agree, I'm also not a fan of this board, but it doesn't mean it's "over"priced, it just took forever to be donee and finally got released in a largely different market. it just belongs to a different time
