"Yueqin De Zhizuo Gongyi"《月琴的制作工艺》(The Process of Making a Yueqin), a 30-minute documentary illustrating in detail the step-by-step process of building a Chinese yueqin (月琴, short-necked moon lute) from start to finish.
Filmed at Hebei Yuehai Musical Instruments Co., Ltd. (Hebei Yuehai Yueqi Youxian Zeren Gongsi, 河北乐海乐器有限责任公司), Suning County (肃宁县), western Cangzhou (沧州市), central Hebei province (河北省), northern China, perhaps c. 2011.
Ms. Chen Yaming (陈雅明, born c. 1961), a professional yueqin and ruan player, educator, and scholar from China, appears in this film.

乐海 is read as yuèhǎi, meaning "sea of music"

Yueqins from prior to the mid-20th century also used to have a metal spring device inside the soundbox, which made a jingling noise when the instrument was shaken, and supposedly also gave the instrument additional resonance or sustain. Cantonese-style lion dance drums still have these.
