SUPPORT ME ON PATREON: / baltmatrix I purchased this figure at Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFZG2BWN?... Social Media: Twitter: @Baltmatrix Facebook: BaltmatrixReviews Instagram: Baltmatrix
Her jet mode is more accurate to her original IDW look than any of her previous toys, though I wish the wings were just a little wider. Part of me is also seeing the potential for this to be remolded into Anode, but I don't really want that unless they do the retooling to make it a biplane
1:55 It's known that the hair accessory was used as a weapon in Japan and it's called kanzashi. The transformation into her jet mode is way *more* better than the old version!
Im happy to see baltmatrix still making videos, it puts a smile on my face that he's still reviewing transformers. I was there from the start and watched his channel grow
Windblade's fan/headdress being an accessory is because there's an actual Japanese martial art based around using a fan as a weapon; you're supposed to be able to use a fan to redirect an opponent's arms. Also, the Thrilling 30 toy had the same feature. I'm glad this toy exists! I got one because I missed out on all of the other Windblades that got made. Bit of a shame that the face still doesn't resemble Saren Stone's art from the comics, but this is a great toy all the same. And she goes nicely with my Generations Armada Starscream! Funnily, because the GA Starscream came out at the same time as Windblade, Windblade's comic has Starscream appearing in his Generations Armada design.
i love this figure. also i also had issues with the heels and found out that the tail fins actually click up on more notch so that the thrusters are the heels with some support of the fins. it does feel like you have to flex a smidge but they do click up one more notch. great review!!
Well reviews are just opinions and like 85% of the time I'm right there with you. I just got to disagree with you on this one Balt. While i do like the figure and agree that the photos made it look far worse then in hand, and her robot mode dose look very good but those wings (and the tiny rotors in particular) are just to small to make her a believable aircraft. Especially as she is supposed to be based off of Cyberverse Windblade who had very large wings and rotors in comparison (both show and toy.) Yes they seem proportional at first glance but CV Windblade is overall much less bulky and that makes a huge difference. The small wings also make the inner peg wholes difficult to use, and to the best of my ability I can not find a dedicated flight stand peg hole in either mode, And that with any flying character is just a straight up crime.
I have two issues with this Windblade 1: I initially hated her sword, but overtime it grew on me, and I kinda like it now 2: Due to Hasbro's incompetence when it comes to distribution, mine was delayed and I still don't have her, at least she has a new estimated delivery unlike the Bumblebee I ordered along with her
That golden piece from her head is I’m guessing is meant to be a integrated Japanese imperial geisha fan. It was a fashion accessory predominantly utilized by high Society, Japanese geisha to keep themselves cool, during performances, so that their imperial makeup would not start melting off of their face, especially during more spirited and active physical performances
While I will always like the Thrilling 30 Windblade, I'm glad the ones they have been making since are more solid feeling and the feet are much more stable, but the colour scheme isn't as good. I'm definitely going to get this one since I have the other ones in any case.
The wings suck, the hands are still partially visible (I care, and 3rd parties think others will care because there's already a kit for it), and I personally think she should have been at least as big as Needlenose. Not all female characters have to be short Deluxes. Still, it's the best figure of her yet IMO. On a side note, I really hope they don't make Slipstream out of this figure. She would be way better as a partial of the Reactivate Starscream.
I already have the original Thrilling 30 Windblade toy, and it's frustrating that this new one isn't 100% better than the one from a decade ago... but I'll buy it anyway, because I try to support Hasbro in making fembots.
This is a figure that I like how it looks but I do not want it. I never really liked windblade cause I didn’t like the design. I was always a sideswipe guy in R.I.D and a Wheeljack and Perceptir guy in cyberverse.

If they make Anode they better make Lug!

Looks quite cool; I wish the VTOL fans were a little larger but looking forward to this release.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this Windblade figure. I pre-ordered her on a whim, and I’m glad I did.
My headcanon is that Windblade is Rule 63 Thrust.

my pre order finally coming tomorrow!
Her hair thing is actually the key of vector sigma

A female transformer mold that's actually good 😮, hope they use it for future fembots
She is WHY better that Warrior Garbade!!!
Getting mine from amazon Sunday
While I liked the original generations windblade figure, I'm tempted to get this one to replace my generations one.

It's not bad, but I'm still partial to the Takara Legends version. Call it a Sunk Cost Fallacy.
I have Titans Return Windblade and also the Japanese version. That’s enough Windblade for me.
her comb reminds me of a pick from a Samisen...
Given the geisha/oiran aesthetic, I think that's what they're going for. Would love to see a 3P shamisen for her 🎎
There's Tasmania Kid again
If i am correct in ancient Japan geisha had em not only to hlep jeep the hir up but it was use as a weapon somtimes, again i could be wrong

I see that facesculpt & it makes me think sgt kabukiman NYPD for some reason
Interesting that her sword is made of dark energon lol maybe she is actually a decepticon now? Jk or even better a herald of Unicron!!!
The head piece comb is supposed to be the evo fusion gimmick of the toy that’s why it comes off 😂
Im still missing the combiner wars version so getting one until i get the older version will be nice.
I'll get the Slipstream version.
I wonder if the comb/fan being removable is a reference to the Thrilling 30 Windblade that also had a removable comb/fan
Her jet modes all look about the same - there’s always a robot visible underneath.

They made a windblade not suck
They already managed that with her RID 2015 figure

Can you do Tasmania Kid Bouldercrash energon megatron

Are you excited for tidal wave? My wallet is going to be toast after I get that figure.
