Toyota has always been the company that goes above and beyond, doing recalls they aren't required to do and when some dope got the throttle stuck on their aftermarket floor mat the company installed hooks to ensure the OEM mats couldn't cause the same problem on future cars.

@@hamoostaffat the airbag failures were from a supplier that everyone was using, and as soon as they knew they put out the recall. has ford ever recalled a frame for excessive rust and replaced it for free offering to replace anything that had come off in the process for cost of parts alone? everyone has recalls, it's the nature of selling an item of that cost at that scale, but i have never heard of Toyota trying to dodge a recall and when they have a problem they often recall without an order to do so.
My grandfather was a pilot for the Mexican air force and had a Rolex. He passed away one day after a helicopter crash and the only thing that was recovered from the crash was his Rolex it was burnt beyond recognition and it wouldn't work. My dad got the idea a few decades later to write a letter to Rolex and they told him that the casing was completely fine despite the fire from the helicopter. It hadn't warped. They were able to fix it and now he has his father's watch. Respect for Rolex

It always baffles me how much of a joke that crash was. Not literally but how it is represented in hindsight. If he would have hit his head or wasnt as experienced and calm WHILE he broke is leg… then he very much could/would have died in that car. And I think it was A LOT closer then anyone has said
Tbh they many times did some dangerous stuff. Of course there is always risk with racing but I think that most stupid challenge was in the scandi flick. They were supposed to speed up down the narrow corridor and then brake at the last moment before the wall in very dimmed interior. All that in 20 year old cars... Great idea

The heat wouldn't have been enough to melt it, the band would be stainless steel and the glass is probably sapphire glass. Honestly I'd be more surprised if it was damaged badly.

Rimac has a great sense of humor, and so does Richard for warmly accepting their gift. they did it because he was ok. he later did a drive in their NEW car, and talked lovingly about how the car actually did hold up very well in the crash, considering how insane the crash was. the speed, the launch off the edge of the hill, etc. in many other cars, hed have had MUCH worse than a broken leg.

From our eyes, he overshot the finish line, failed to turn, hit a wall, and ended up in a ditch. Everything (but the car) would be fine. We somehow failed to remember that they had been doing a hill climb competition, and therefore the drop on the other side of the wall was not a ditch, but a steep decline.
