With technology the way it is, you could decrease tire allocation for the weekend while gaining great racing but more importantly, chassis and engine variety; inline, v4, maybe v3 engines and carbon, tube, mono, etc. If I remember correctly and I could be wrong but I thought Colin Edward’s said in faster that he couldn’t ride on Rossi’s setup, specifically the tire stiffness and construction. That was when Michelin would get data on Friday and Saturday, make tires on Saturday and fly them to the track for use during the race. The tires were designed for the bikes and more specifically for the riders. The top riders got the best stuff. It’s partly why Elias won in 2006, the tires he raced on were extras Pedrosa didn’t need. Single tire supplier prevented the excessive tire costs. Could the rules be better, probably. I’d rather see the old days of the tires not lasting to the very end and require more rider skill management. Michelin would get to temp faster than Bridgestone but Bridgestone would last the whole race. Pick your poison.

      Maybe if Pecco had the 23, he would win with a much larger margin. After all, Bez (GP23) was in 3rd and Bastianini (GP24) was in 5th, and they have very similar levels. In fact, Bastianini was better this season, but ended up behind here. Alex Marquez also got 4th on a GP23, while all the other GP24 crashed. So...tell me which bike was better in Jerez? Sometimes the bike experience is better than the new upgrades, since the new setups might not work as expected.

    Are you friggen kidding Crafar? Pecco has years of experience riding the Ducati, he has the latest update on the latest developed bike with full factory support and could only just hold of a rider with 4 rounds experience on the Ducati and years of bad habits from his time with Honda. Pecco had better pray because that wasn't good enough, he should have been seconds up the track from MM.

    What a phenomenal race, Marc is absolutely unreal. Let's not forget Marc is on a far inferior bike to Bagnaia and almost had him, the fact that he was that close till the end shows how much better he is than Bagnaia. Marc is getting closer and closer to that win, it will come for sure this year! Marc deserves that factory Ducati, he shouldn't be battling with the GP24s on that basic GP23. Nothing special from Bagnaia, but somethings very very special from Marc. Haters are going to be in hiding today, and watch, they won't talk much about Martin falling off because it's not Marc. Double standards. Bagnaia also can't race clean, literally riding into Marc's head. The fastest ever, the best ever, the GOAT! #MM93
    So many riders did silly moves and took others out but no mention from haters or the stewards. Imagine if it was Marc. Double standards.

      Is it really a far inferior bike if the 2nd, 3rd, 4th are on GP23? And the next GP24 is at 5th? Even Bez, who struggled all season until now is in 3rd. Bikes have different performances in different tracks, and in this one the experience of the GP23 surpassed whatever upgrades the GP24 had, or, at the very least, it was on par with it.
      If the GP23 were so far inferior, Bastianini would be 2nd...

    • @smooches358
      @smooches358 Před 26 dny +7

      'Nothing special from Bagnaia' says the Marc fanboy. I guess you didn't see the double overtake from the outside he did on lap 1? Besides that, Pecco also beat Marc in strategy, he let Marc come close burning his tires out, then said Bye Bye Marc... and smashed the track record 2 laps from the end. Genius strategy. If all this is 'nothing special' you should stop commenting here because you know nothing about MotoGP, like any typical Marc fanboy.

      @@jaguatiricaimediata5305 us mere mortals have no real idea how different the GP23/24 bikes are but Ducati have improved the bike to some degree and they will improve it more as the season develops. But what needs to be applauded is Marc's adaptation to the Ducati regardless of whether its this years or last years. He has the least amount of time on that bike and has had to change his riding style a lot to match the bike. Pecco, Martin etc have so much more bike time on the ducati than Marc and it's incredible how competitive he is at this early stage. Love him or hate him you have to respect how well he is adapting. Great ride from Pecco all the same. Biggest loser of the weekend has to be Jorge's strange crash

    • @jaguatiricaimediata5305
      @jaguatiricaimediata5305 Před 26 dny +5

      @@cwcw765 I agree that Marc is phenomenal and he will get his win soon. And yes, this incredibly short adaptation period is indeed extraordinary. But what is not verifiable is that, specifically in Jerez, the GP24 was superior than the GP23, if anything, it looked like less stable (so much so that Martín crashed, and even before that it was really chattering under braking). So what we have here is two incredible riders, one that has pull off one of the most incredible overtakes ever, and managed the race to perfection (putting pressure on Martin and defending against Marc), and the other who, despite being only 4 full races on that bike, still fought for 2nd and left so many other Ducati riders wanting. What I don't accept is people who try to diminish either Bagnaia's or Marquez's efforts, as both of them are absolutely special.
      Saying that either one or the other is bad only diminishes the other's skills.

    • @exchangedspider
      @exchangedspider Před 26 dny +3

      GP-24 is not superior at this point, they have improved it by simulation but are still trying to figure it out on track, where GP-23 is a well oiled machine at its peak, and on a circuit like Jerez where power doesn't matter, they are pretty much level. but it is expected that GP-24 will be more refined and better in 3-4 races.
