La Paz Street was not always the wide and elegant boulevard that we know today. Its history dates back to medieval Valencia, when this area was made up of a tangle of narrow alleys and small squares. It was at the end of the 19th century when the city of Valencia, under a modernizing impulse, radically transformed this space.
In 1878, after the signing of the Peace of Zanjón that ended the Ten Years' War in Cuba, Valencia decided to honor this important historical event with the creation of a new street, symbolizing hope and renewal. This is how La Paz Street was born, which quickly became a symbol of progress and urban development in the city.
As we walk down the street of La Paz, we find ourselves surrounded by an impressive collection of modernist and neoclassical buildings, witnesses of the economic and cultural rise of Valencia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Una bonita calle modernista siempre me gusto, en el centro histórico es un entorno que se caracteriza por la cantidad de monumentos históricos que rodean los aledaños de la calle de la Paz, te a quedado un vídeo precioso Valencia luce desde cualquier ángulo. Un abrazo Habi. 😊
