Banerjee gave the example for RDB but forgot the mention that the character of defence minster in the movie was directly based on George Fernandes of NDA. That was exactly the reason the Congress allowed it to release. Had it been based on Bofors scandle then they would have banned it as well.

It's universal for all and is bound to none, so for example if BJP has an ideology that it stands by, it's more than welcomed to do so, the constitution empowers it to put forward till it strips away another's rights. Good point. The Modi govt never interfered with anti BJP movies. Remember the movie Shikara where there's a child leader called Nadru who chants: Mandir wahi banayenge? Yeah we all what they wanted to show. And the movie was a flop.
The Kashmir Files on the other hand was never meant for elections. It was released in 2022.
Savarkar in my opinion is an artistic movie. Based on Vikram Sampath's book, it enlightened us how much of a hero he was to the Hindu society.

Some things to consider for you -
Firstly, by comparing the misdeeds of the previous regimes you can not justify the misdeeds and propaganda of this regime.
Secondly, the era prior to 2014 was not heavily influenced by social media which is now filled up with venomous propaganda up to its brim. These movies are adding another layer to this propaganda.
Thirdly, no sitting PM prior to this one, had ever tried to promote a propaganda movie in a public speech.

i was born in 1990s. whatever film i saw, before and after 2014, there is one difference. Before 2014, it was film. Very interesting, factual and contrast views to akash video. Very good shan ji. I also really appreciate research done by akash too . As a cinema lovers we must watch all good movies and must give unbiased opinions.
Before 2014 Manmohan Singh or any centre union ministers and godi news channels never promoted these movies. And if few did, they did at a very small scale.
Many theatre owners refused to release movie PARZANIA in their theatres. But now no theatre owner have guts to refuse release of movies like Kerala stories or Kashmir files.

Umm #shan_prasher Few things I would like to call out in this video of yours
1. The use of films to create certain leanings in the masses has been part of the history, and is always unethical, when previous party did it, it was unethical, when the present government does it , it is still unethical. I don't understand the need for this comparision.
2. A majority of movies that you mentioned weren't blockbusters in their day and age, and neither were promoted by any political figure in power back in the day, which isn't the case with today's movies.
Comparing these modern day hits to a cinematic brilliance like Gulaal is just bewildering.
A movie obviously always has a narrative as it is someone's brain child, but when a director takes cinematic liberties to put out wrong facts, says that this is based on true events which isn't the case and doesn't give a damn to the elements of cinema, may it be acting, screenplay, or the overall direction.
Then that is in all shape and form a propoganda film which does justice to neither the issue on which it is based nor the medium i.e. cinema where it is present.
Kindly do let me know if you see movies like Rang De Basanti or PK which were anti establishments and said they are a work of fiction and also excelled on the parameters of cinema, Direction,acting, music, screenplay anything.
