The fact that they’ve released so much DLC content for FREE is so incredibly kind of this studio.
Even as a strictly financial decision, it makes us want to buy the 2nd game even more
They were planning for one game . they didn't expect it to be a massive success. So they had to change the story through this dlc so that the sequel makes sense
The game itself is amazing in so many aspects. If we could get an animated series or movie that doesn't alter the story nor the gore elements it'd be fire

It could be amazing but also a complete trainwreck. Unlike Castlevania there's a lore reason why the penitent one doesn't speak, so the story can't really be narrated well from their perspective.
@@AnimatingDreams I get your point but dialogue isn't necessary. In fact, I think the absence of it would take the narration into another level. Just watching the story unravel itself, trying to make sense of what's happening and figure out what's going on inside the protagonist's head. Music and atmosphere would be key elements just like in the game. Take Angel's Egg for example (well minus the lack of gore), the viewer is left to interpret and understand and that's awesome
Depends on how it's done.
The world of Blasphemous is vast and intricate but the story is a bit lacking. If a group of writers can navigate and develop the penitent one through actions and it would be great. If a bunch of edge lords start making heavy handed plot roads its going to fall apart.
I think the key would be the pilgrimage, a decompressed moment by moment look at his journey. Sort of a cowboy bebop/ trigun feel but with a silent protag.
Blasphemous would make a great animated series

I dunno man, that overheard strike around 0:40 is a bit dubious. It's impossible for that sort of movement with that giant hat. As such, they just skipped that frame of animation. It looks cool, but it's also impossible (yes I know it's a video game, but you could have the character adapt his fighting style around not being able to do overhead swings, which in general are a bad idea, anyway)

That final DLC was exactly what this game needed to go from a solid 8 to a 10.
agreed, story wise it's definitely tied for top with a few others. in terms of boss fights it's the best in my opinion. we also aren't giving it enough praise for how good the combat mechanics feel. this is also one of the most fun games to sequence break.

I would love more than anything to see a blasphemous animated series. Maybe in the vain of castlevania, but far less comedic, much more dramatic.
Yeah less bullshit like that the dialogue and writing in that show was a bit cringy. Like it was written by edgy high school students. I’d hope it would be more focused, grounded, and gritty
@@wintergreen2.073 Honestly? the dialogue isn't as bad as you say. It's often times comedic in a "we're going through a lot and trying to lighten the mood with jokes but we're not social people" way, which makes perfect sense because hey, people try to lighten hard times with humor, and most of the time it doesn't land. And when it's not being comedic, I feel like it's being realistic. Like these people would curse a lot, they're not gonna speak as if they were a novel written in the 1800's, they're not gonna be poetic all the time, they're gonna say shit and fuck a lot cuz they're stressed out and pissed off
With the grim soundtrack too, preferably by Carlos Viola of course

Then the complication may be, your protagonist is silent, so you may feel a lot of the drama following a ton of secondary characters. Following their penitence, and fleshing the world. With the penitent just being a tool to take us from place to place.
Maybe just fleshing the world and "background stories"

Darksouls uses medieval gothic art style; Blasphemous uses baroque catholic art style. Big difference
@@scientia_redelcon8735 the art style might be different there, but you can’t deny the similiarities. The devs have said that Dark Souls was one of the inspirations and one item description even reference Dark Souls.
I must say that I prefer the art style of blasphemous even though Dark Souls is my favorite game.

I just started playing this game and I’m blown away. Im completely obsessed. The design both artistic and Audio are sublime 👌🏽 the enemy design and bosses are absolutely incredible. Im so very impressed

Very SOTN feel to it. I love watching the cut scenes and boss fights. Netflix should nudge the creators of the animated castelvania show to make a blasphemous show. Hell i even enjoyed the one the did for the witcher.
