I remember when I first ran at Mr X thinking "I just beat Shiva, this old man ain't sh_t!"
...I was quickly corrected by getting rifle-butt uppercutted to the face and went flying to the other side of the screen.
In the first one it always starts with a rifle-butt attack and half life stolen...
Yeah it's part of his AI in SoR2, the first thing he always does is charge at you for a rifle-butt uppercut no matter where you are on the screen
@MrZoran84 I remember button mashing when he got up, thinking I'd get a combo off on him when he entered the stage. NOPE!
This boss theme is really badass and makes the players feel that they re really in the nightmare during the boss fight

It’s the strings
0:43 is the reason I favor this more than the SOR 1 and 2 versions. It puts emphasis on the climax of the song and only that part plays. No extra tunes play except bass and beat. So great.
Agreed. It gives this theme the sense of grandiosity that a final boss requires. It really feels like you're going against a classical mobster wearing a suit that tries to mow you down even if it means that his own thugs must also die.

I noticed in the original, it actually has the standard boss music playing with Mr. X's theme over it. I thought this was pretty powerful in the sense that it lets you know he's a boss, but his own addition of instruments overlapping the regular boss theme tells you he's different than the others.
