Out standing job you have done on the old Atkinson is see the haven't mastered the art of not using the clutch when she's rolling but I do love the split shifting the bear's up and down I drove a ERF with a road ranger box and apart from stopping and starting off no clutch needed but you guys have done a absolutely fantastic job on her and I do like the colours too.
Love the steering wheel. Here in Sydney there used to always be a four axle Atkinson around this vintage parked in a holdng yard toy could see from the train in the 1990s.
I don't recall seeing this type with a glass fibre (?) square-cornered cab in UK before. Very smart design. From Australia? The rounded 1960s cab lasted until at least the P registration (1976-77).
I didn't know they had these plastic cab Atkinsons in England, not like the borderers etc. I had a single drive half sleeper with a 6-71 Detroit, RTO 910 and kirkstall diff. Cheers from Australia.
At least you won’t have to worry about rust in that “ reinforced plastics” Australian Atkinson cab you must have got from here in Melbourne, Victoria or some other state obviously.
thelanyman I agree I like all British wagons but Fodens are my favourite just cause I have family history with them but Atkinsons are probably my second favourite thanks for the reply.
This is a growling scary beast what a sound love the double clutch sounds great video
That is the sound of my youth , that cummins sounds gorgeous 😍
That Cummings engine sounds really good.Nice to see an Atkinson restored well after. You've done a good job on her, like the livery also.
Really nice unit going like a train,,, Fuller box and probably a 220 Cummins , great combination
Nice job.
Beautiful steering wheel and gauges too.

Awsome, it's refreshing to see someone using tha clutch.
Absolutely superb, Rich - looks and sounds perfect in every way. That suspension seat is earning its keep!!

She sounds very healthy!!!
This truck is awesome!
very smooth driving

Lovely gearchanges
Love it!
Well done!
more please love it.
bueno.
I'm actually drooling.
well done, very nicely driven indeed, every gear change a joy to hear. What engine? I was expecting a Gardner? Is it?
Thank you. It’s a 12l Cummins 220.
i have gone def in my left ear after all the years i drove one off them
Same here, had one a couple of years in late seventies
Hooton Pagnall 👌🏻
A proper lorry
What gearbox is this, looks lovely
Mark Jones ten speed fuller over drive. The gears are very evenly spaced so it makes driving easy.
What's the Engine ? Seems like a 13 Direct R/R transmission . And Handraulic Steering . Armstrong Patent Steering perhaps .
The engine is a 12l Cummins. It’s a 10 speed overdrive road ranger, and yes, 🤭 Armstrong steering.
Great video. Is that a Gardner I can hear?
unmistakably CUMMINS.
Do you prefer Foden, Atkinson or ERF I personally prefer Fodens I’ve got a couple of Foden cab ride videos on my channel.
Harry Stephenson o love all British wagons but Atkinson are my favourite. I do like Fodens but the Oder ones I have drove are not as nice as the atki.

What year?
1972
could you imagine todays drivers sleeping in that cab never mind drive it
What happened to your NCB seddon?
I sold it too a mate.
@@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer ah hope he looks after it as well as you did
@@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer sorry bud I meant Atkinson Freudian slip 🙈🤣
@@GWLAD he would have not got it if he was not going to look after her.
Right left right.
Cummins?
Sure is.
What name of this truck it is?
Er, it tells you in the damn video title, eh??????? 🙄🤣!!!!!
What sort of donk is she running?
12l 220 Cummins.
The poms don't like Detroits
@@andrewking9761 only because of how much we pay for fuel, we love V8s we just can’t afford to feed them.
Taking nothing away from this, but put a trailer on it with some waight on it, and see how she drives and sounds
Steve Taylor I so many times. It’s much easier to drive with a trailer on as the gears don’t over run so much
@@Mr_b_yorkshire_farmer your absolutely right,
Blokes went to Saudi in these things... Dont whinge about Rungis while in an automatic DAF ffs.
