- I always loved the tone on this album, to be honest they've never had a bad one. This tone just stood out to me a little different than the others with a more aggressive top end that suits the progressive style of the songs. Sacrament has the best production but this is an iconic sounding album with ridiculous guitar riffs to match.
I didn't want to replicate the tone using loads of effects, it's such a great to raw straight from the amp with nothing but a Boss Ns-2 in front. What you hear is the amp itself.
Thanks for tuning in again, feel free to email me with any questions at Lambchopper678@me.com Subscribe to the channel and follow on me Facebook lambchopper6... - Hudba
Love how the parrot has a clear Aussie accent
Sounds like Lambchopper.
What type of parrot is Ollie?
It's cuz its an Australian bird duhhhhh! Thats why its got an Aussie accent
The parrot is absolutely crucial to the tone
I've seen this comment like, 4 times.
Undoubtedly
Parrot is key :)
You're trying to imitate the sound of bands while the bird is trying to imitate you. Good job - both of you.
Lamb: They used a Mark IV, but I'm transposing the settings to my Mark V; they're very similar
LambParrot: *gibberish*
Lamb: No, they are similar!
0:00 - Laid to Rest
3:43 - Hourglass
4:35 - Now You've Got Something to Die For
6:18 - The Faded Line
7:16 - Blood of the Scribe
8:21 - Ashes of the Wake
9:44 - Another Nail For Your Coffin
24 y/o me is pissed that your channel didn't exist in 2004. This album is pretty much all I cared to play back then.
54 year old me feels very similar, but would have loved to have access to this info in 1978!
There’s no way you could come close to playing any lamb of god when you were 9
@@jacobarthur15 I was 24 y/o in 2004. Born in 1980.
@@jacobarthur15 And I still struggled to play these riffs.
@@TheJoshRed I read it wrong too, was like damn kid was riffing out
I love how you're talking to your parrot
All these bands are gonna put a hit out on you spoiling all their secrets!
For me, for my generation , groundbreaking masterpiece album. Such imaginative riffs!
Lamb of God, Killswitch engage, Shadows Fall, Trivium were my big 4 when I was 13 crazy time mid 2000s
Ashes of the wake really was a 10/10 perfect album. 🙌
Haha, I wish I could understand what your parrot was saying. That tone sounds spot on to me, great job as usual!
My Favourite Ashes of the Wake Song is Blood of the Scribe -- Ashes of the wake is my favourite LOG album - to me its their " Master of Puppets "
Your parrot was really talkative in this video and had me in stiches!
such a nice parrot and guitar tone
Great video! Love the birdie and the shredding!
Really cool video!! So nice to see you included Another Nail for Your Coffin, i really enjoy this riff!🤘🏼
Absolutely loving these Guitar Tone videos, they're a delight, incredible to see how well you nail all these different tones. Fun to see how you achieve these sounds
I'm so happy to see Another nail in your coffin here. I've always loved that riff, Supremely underrated! Cheers!
About time someone of your caliber did this! Thanks man. I love this tone, and I recently bought a mark v 25. So looking forward to dialing this in. Thank you so much again!
This is the video I've been waiting for!
I absolutely love how you and the beautiful bird bounce off each other
Ashes is a great album. Thanks for the tone breakdown
Another nail for your coffin is probably one of my top LoG songs. I think it showcases everything this band can do and do well!! Great vid!
"Another nail for your coffin" is the first song that made me focus on Lamb of God. It was that riff specifically, which you played flawlessly! It's always a treat when i see that you have posted a new video. Keep up the good work,it is much appreciated !
Great video. Love LOG and Ashes might be my favourite guitar tone ever.
PURE RIFFAGE!!! Keep it up broham!
Ashes of the wake and Sacrament are my two fav LOG albums, sick video! (As always) 🤘
Love it mate, thank you
Nailed the tone for this one! That riff from hourglass is kick ass. Great job m8 👏👏
A little late to this video. Everything on & CZcams still hid it .....but better late than never .
Another fantastic vid , so enjoying these in depth looks into tones .Amazing🤘👍
Great album, great riffing and fun vid man!
Awesome video,you nailed the tone.
Brilliance Anthony ! Ur bird reminds me of my madre's cockatoos they were always whistling anytime we would argue , we'd laugh our asses off . Ur a master of tone and inspiration brother , don't stop
Brother.... I followed you almost 10 years ago when you first started covering Ashes and Sacrament songs. Used you so much as a reference. You are an amazing guitarist. I have a Line 6 soider3 head with a Line 6 4x12 cab. I have a sound saved on the head with the name "LOG" toned to their original Ashes and early Sacrament sound from their MK4's they used. Super crunchy high Mids and treble at about 7. With bass being at about 3-3.5 to get crisp lovely riffs. Happy shredding Brother!!!!!!
In my opinion Ashes of the Wake is their best album hands down. And as far as pure metal goes its up their in my top 3 ever.
Thanks for video. Your channel is great man.
Thank you mate, greate video 😁😁😁
Love that you included another nail for your coffin :)) it has my favorite solo ever
I am your true fan … you are truly truly Amazing 🤩!!
Sick playing my man
Awesome video🤘
I remember looking up another song called Hourglass and actually landed on your guitar cover. I thought the song was cool but didn't think much about it and just forgot. My cousin tells me about Lamb of God years later and she got me into them. I forgot that I accidentally stumbled upon them and your channel. Thank you for that memory.
Amazing playing man!!
Great stuff. It's going to fulfill a dream when I purchase my Mark series amp. I love your bird too.
LOG tones! So aggressive and tight 🤘🏻sounds great
Great guitar tone! Great riffing! 8:44 - 9:16 is very inspiring
Awesome tone!
As a fellow owner of the MKv:25 I'd love to see more of these tone vids for this amp. Always interested to try out other tones on this amp.
Definitely, great amp 👌🏻
The parrot told me to subscribe and I always obey the parrot! Cool video, I'm also a huge LOG fan. Please keep the parrot in the vids!!!
Man you keep delivering. Tones are tight as always. Exodus next please!
Impact is Iminent - the more modern tones using the Savage 120 & XXX are difficult to get with the DSL. I may need to bust out the Fortin grind stomp for that
Fucking awesome yet again brother. If i close my eyes while your playing I'd swear it was mark or willie themselves.
Amazing
The riff in Blood of the scribe is definitely the nastiest thing I’ve ever heard. So good.
YES! Finally someone else who agrees that the Blood of the Scribe riff is the best on the album!
Such an original tone!
It would be awesome if you uploaded weekly videos with the mesa and the dsl20 showing how to capture all these tones...
This is by far most helpful videos on youtube
Thanks mate, I’ll try and capture a LOG tone on the DSL down the track
Best LoG album. Very nice playing
congrats on 100k man
Great stuff. Really digging your channel since I found it. I love seeing some of us older dudes still thrashing about. I’m in my late 40’s and still live for metal in all its forms. Sometimes my kids who are adults themselves now, just laugh at me and say that I’m stuck in 1988. 🤘🤘
I’ve been saying that for years lol
‘88-‘91 gave me a lifetime of metal
Same Same bro! Keeps us young at heart when others get all crotchy! /w\/w\
Great music will always be great music.
@@LambChopper678 Dude, half my channel is tapes and footage when we were kids starting a band. 89 Guitar/Drum covers, 90 Full band covers, 91 4 track demo of originals, 92 VHS live gig!
Mark's DiMarzio pickups are incredible
This has to be one of the most knowledgeable parrot in any guitar related material 😂 good job!
Just started checking out Jacksons for the willie series. Idk why i never thought about getting one as its my favorite death metal band. But also why not for the price. Currently using a schecter diamond series (First guitar ) and a Charvel Soloist for my 6s and I have just got a KM7 mk3 Schecter sig guitar. My crew at the moment. but you got me looking at these jackson now as I need a new 6 string. - Great video too!
Nailed it!
25w, el84, 1x12 still sounding crushing
That sounded fucking crushing dude 😎🤘 Haven't really listened that much to Lamb Of God but I 'll give that record a listen 👍
Robin Hansen
You’ve gotta check it out; in my opinion Ashes is their best album. If you only listen to one of their albums, I’d say make it that one.
Love that album dude one of the best of all time
Same here, just some songs off their first two albums.
What a TONE!!!! 🤟😝🤟
That mini recto cab is one tight box!
The trick with the Mark series is that you gotta think of the EQ as a built-in tube boost pedal since it's pre-gain. The sliders are the post gain EQ.
Man, the parrot needs to have his own mic.
Your parrot is the best co-host anyone could ever ask for
You nailed it, as always! I'd love to see some Iron Maiden on the Marshall next time :)
Omg I want that mesa
Favorite recorded guitar tone of all time. It has the paradoxical combination of sounding both creamy and dry to my ears that overall just sounds very organic. It sounds like they're playing instruments made from wood.
Amazing tone and riffs as always. I agree with Blood of the Scribe being the best on the album. Also, can we get a mic on Ollie? haha
could you do exodus' shovel headed kill machine? one of the most brutal thrash tones ever
I thought ...And Justice For All had a brutal tone but Exodus beat Metallica with Shovel Headed Kill Machine
I’ll try, the XXX is tough to replicate
@@LambChopper678 yay! looking forward to it, thanks friend
What about fabulous disaster? That would be cool too
The parrot, knows you nailed it!!
Videos like this remind me why I wouldn’t mind a Mark V. Tbh if I could ask for any Mesa, I’d want an RA100, the gain with a boost is fuvking insane.
Great job! I have one request...need to give the parrot his own mic LOL.
I was just thinking that, he’s second anchor now
Hey Anthony, I guess not having a parrot would be slightly less distracting. Great videos man, very informative. Thankyou.
Parrot needs a mic!! CAn't wait for it to start riffing along Haha
Awesome videos, any chance you could do Mastodon at some point?
Love the bird man, fucking funny 😆
Tone sounds perfect. Do you think you could maybe do a video on the tone from As The Palaces Burn? I love the tone for Ashes of The Wake, but I think As The Palaces Burns has this absolutely crushing tone that is just nasty.
The playing and the tone is SPOT ON but, parrot for the win!!!! Keep kill it!
lol man love your vids
the parrot seems like a good friend!
The parrot...lmao. Thank you for the parrot-cam.
I'm not able to play pinch harmonics when I put the noise gate in front of the gain. What to do?
Great job on the tone. Think you pretty much have it nailed. Only thing I’d add is that I’m pretty sure mark and Willie used a maxon od as a boost into their MKIVs. I’m sure I saw a rig rundown where they showed that. I’ll have to dig it out.
All the interviews around the time of ashes showed they ran the boogie straight in. It’s be good to clarify. I tried the od in front just to see but I found it tightened things up too much and lost the juice of the boogie
@@LambChopper678 it might have just been mark now that I think of it. Maybe it was just for leads.
1:20 right on the cab
*whistle*
I found that so funny
how about LoG tone on the DSL20HR ?
Exodus next please
Can’t believe I never gave Lamb Of God a chance until now , so brutal . Thanks for opening my eyes man ! I can’t get enough of it
Could you do helmet's "meantime" tone?
Alright sir, can you please do a Bolt Thrower one?
Can I know what wall stands you are using ?
Hey Lamb what clipping were you using, Pentode or Triode? i have a mark v 90. any help would be dope. Great vid
That Jackson is stunning!!! I wanna pick up one soon, can somebody tell me the model used?
Jackson Dominion pro model
Not only is the tone very very close with capturing the personality of AOTW, you are also an absolutely p h e n o m i n a l player...and I say that as someone who's had the honor of meeting and playing with some of the best modern day metal guitar players.
You're not just playing the notes here, there's an expression on that album, its quirks, the pick attack, the hammerons that are partially harmonics...I know those albums like the inside of my own house and you play with the kind of tightness that is usually only achievable through cutting and chopping perfect takes over many hours.
Do you write your own stuff?
I thought they used mk II coliseum's. Can't remember if they're ++ or not though. But if Willie said IV...
Omertaaa!
Little late trying to translate this to fractal did Willy pull the treble?
