    Video summary:
    00:00 - About Live Q&A
    01:45 - About Crystal Touch Clinic
    03:20 - Q1: I had a little improvement since my onset, but should I worry if I still can’t smile after 1 month?
    04:12 - Q2: Should I use hot compress on my affected side?
    06:02 - Q3: Chewing on a chewing gum during Bell’s palsy - can it help my nerve to recover, or will it make it worse?
    06:59 - Q4: Please, I’ve been suffering from Bell’s palsy more than 2 months. I had treatment, but only recovered about 10%. Please, what can I do? Is this permanent?
    08:00 - Q5: What does your procedure for synkinesis treatment look like?
    09:39 - Q6: Do you have practical steps to advise that we can do at home to help manage synkinesis? (eg. self massage, cold/warm compress?)
    14:07 - Q7: You are very unique and hard to find any specialist clinic in Europe. Why do you think it’s so hard to get the right advice?
    15:50 - Q8: Do you believe synkinesis is caused by overacting on exercises or is it simply inevitable for some cases?
    17:55 - Q9: Why does every other specialist think synkinesis is a miswiring, not a habit?
    20:11 - Q10: I usually feel tense the neck area including my mouth. I have had 3 years of bells palsy. Any advise?
    22:56 - Q11: Can the synkinesis be corrected? Bell’s palsy started in November of 2020, it’s about 2 months my mom started to have synkinesis.
    25:10 - Extra Q: Does your clinic have locations in the United States?
    25:24 - Q12: I had 7 Bell’s palsies in my life… 2 times the nerve on the same side didn’t recovery 100%. Difficulties with my eye, dryness, etc. Any suggestion for it when it comes to go to bed at nightime.
    26:35 - Q13: Do you think that taking prednisolone 2.5 months in, would provide any help?
    28:56 - Q14: Is stretching useful? How does it help most for straightening the tight muscles?
    30:56 - Q15: Can synkinesis be treated 7 years after the onset?
    31:58 - Q16: Do you recommend botox for synkinesis or do you feel it is contraindicated?
    34:23 - Q17: Do you have any experience on whether B21 or any other medication can help in the late recovery period of Bells palsy?
    35:32 - Q18: If we are still under recovery, is it recommended to apply covid vaccine?
    38:00 - Q19: 70% recovered and it’s just hit 1 year since onset. Do I still have potential to recover?
    39:24 - Q20: With your program is there 100% recovery from synkinesis?
    41:26 - Q21: I’ve developed synkinesis - what can be done to reduce the effects of this is it permanent?
    42:38 - Q22: My face (affected side) is swollen all the time. Do I need to give warm massages or there are any other hacks for reducing the swelling?
    43:52 - Q23: I’m on week 11 in and I saw the first tiny movement on the 7th week. I have a very slow progress. I now feel an eye muscle move when I yawn. Does this mean that I already have synkinesis?

    I had a bells palsy three years ago and my face has still not fully recovered. When I blink my mouth twitches from the affected side. I also get spasms in the nose and involuntary nostril flares when stressed etc. I have been offered botox to stop the twitches but any movement is better than paralysis and I try to ser my little twitch every time I blink as a constant reminder of my journey and when I'm stressed/high blood pressure and I get my spasms I try to see it as a reminder to take it easy and listen to my body.. it does get easier xxx

      Та же самая беда, и те же самые ощущения и у меня, Тамара! Прошло уже 2 года как появилась синкинезия..😐 Улучшения совсем незначительные есть - меньше дёргается уголок рта при моргании и приёме пищи. Но стоит чуть понервничать или излишне поэмоционировать, а также при прохладной ветрянной погоде - всё возвращается на круги своя!..(( Порядком достало!😓 А как Ваше личико себя чувствует? Вы принимаете какие-либо восстановительные препараты или процедуры?

    Is it advised to tape the affected side to reduce stress on the muscle?

    • @CrystalTouchClinic
      @CrystalTouchClinic  Před rokem

      During the acute stage, and at later stages if necessary, it is advised to tape the eye or use an eye patch or moisture chamber to prevent damage to the cornea.
      As for the muscles, there is no need to tape them. During the acute stage, there is no connection between the brain and the facial muscles, as the facial nerve is damaged. This does not injure the muscles. During the recovery stage, and later on, taping will not help to reduce any stress on the muscles, as all the signals come from the brain. This includes exaggerated signals that may lead to spasms. Taping the muscles will not reduce those signals. On the contrary, it might increase the signals as a taped muscle will not move, and the brain will try even harder (by sending stronger signals) to move the muscles. This relates to the system of facial proprioception and the way muscles and brain communicate with each other via the nerves.
      I hope that answers your question. If not, please feel free to contact us with more questions vis info@crystal-touch.nl

    Dr this bell's palsy is occurring at the lips of the mouth or both jaws?

    • @CrystalTouchClinic
      @CrystalTouchClinic  Před 2 lety +1

      Bell's palsy is a paralysis of one side of the face. If you experience a paralysis at the lips only or in your jaws, the problem is probably something else. In either case, you should go and see your doctor.

    • @CrystalTouchClinic
      @CrystalTouchClinic  Před 2 lety

      If you cannot close your eye fully, you should use the tape or a moisture chamber at night and during the day as you feel the need. You can also consult your doctor about the duration.

    i just want it to stop- is it a ridiculous thought to wonder that if the synkenesis could be also caused or induced on the non paralyzed side of my face then the balance and symmetry would be in alignment atleast more?

    • @CrystalTouchClinic
      @CrystalTouchClinic  Před 2 lety +1

      There isn't really way to "induce" synkinesis on the healthy side. Indeed, synkinesis can be very devastating and life-changing. It can have a strong effect on your emotions and quality of life. The good news is that synkinesis can be reduced. So there isn't a need to try to make your face symmetrical by forcing synkinesis on the healthy side (which is not possible). Instead, it is better to work on improving your affected side. Synkinesis will not go away by itself. You would have to work on it every day, for several months at least, until you will start seeing improvement. But, it is possible, and we are certain of that because we have successfully helped many patients with synkinesis to reduce its manifestations, and more importantly, to return their self-confidence and quality of life. If you are prepared to start working on it, step one would be to register for a diagnostic session, so we can speak with you, analyze your condition, let you know what results would be possible in your situation and develop a plan with further steps for your recovery: crystal-touch.nl/online-bells-palsy-diagnostic-session/

      Добрый день,
      Сказать или посоветовать что-то определенное без предварительного осмотра, мы не можем, к сожалению. По простой причине что неподходящий совет просто не приведёт ни к каким результатам. Каждый случай невропатии лицевого нерва очень индивидуален и требует разного подхода для достижения результатов. Тем более если прошло более года.
      Что мы можем посоветовать без предварительного осмотра, Вы можете узнать в это видео czcams.com/video/-DYnPuzbIa8/video.html
      Для осмотра и более подробного ответа по Вашему случаю, можете записаться на онлайн диагностику: crystal-touch.nl/ru/online-bells-palsy-diagnostic-session-ru/
