I don't know if it is expensive, and for these reasons One, the location. This is the Cotswolds, you will pay same prices for Fish, chips, and mushy peas in a sit down restaurant in Warwick, Leamington, and some nice places in London. This is not a street in Leeds, or Yorkshire, where prices are more fair. The further south you go, the more price it is, for everything. Two, cost of food has gone up.
I understand your point and always take the above into account when I review but unfortunately the meal did not deliver award fish & chips, The fish was small and chips were an embarrassing small portion and were stone cold and service was slow., hence a poor rating

Been there and wasn't impressed, wasn't anything award winning, Bourton was lovely though
