To create the initial balloon garland, I used 88 balloons in total:
- 28 of the 11-inch white sand balloons
- 35 of the 11-inch eucalyptus balloons
- 5 of the 24-inch eucalyptus balloons
- 17 of the 11-inch white balloons
- 3 of the 18-inch white balloons
To add my finishing touches, I used 114 balloons in total:
- 22 of the 5-inch white sand balloons
- 18 of the 9-inch white sand balloons
- 8 of the 11-inch white sand balloons
- 10 of the 5-inch white balloons
- 16 of the 9-inch white balloons
- 1 of the 18-inch white balloons
- 1 of the 24-inch white balloons
- 30 of the 5-inch eucalyptus balloons
- 5 of the 11-inch eucalyptus balloons
- 3 of the 24-inch eucalyptus balloons
In total I used 35 of the 260 balloons. I use these to create the balloon garland and to add my final touches.

Thank you. You’ll need 2 boxes for this one. It’s 6.5ft wide and 8ft tall. If you put it up against a wall, it’s not easy to see through.

Thank you for explaining so well, just wanted to know how long does this take altogether? If I blow up all my balloons the night before and bunch some of them together will 1.5hours be enough time to make the arch?
You’re welcome! I usually only have 2 hours for setup at my events. I try to setup my balloon backdrops in 30-45 minutes. So, yes I would recommend blowing up all of your balloons and stringing them together before the event.
Beautiful! I did have a question for your backdrop. On Amazon, they only have the 12pc. Did you get 2 boxes of those to make your backdrop fuller? Or did you only use 12pcs?
Thank you! I used 20 panels to make my backdrop (4 panels wide, 5 panels high). So, yes, you’ll need to boxes.

How much time in advance do you recommend blowing up the balloons? I'm hosting a party and would love to set up the backdrop and balloon garland 2-3 days in advance so I can focus on food and everything else the day of, but I'm worried the balloons might deflate.
Thank you! Yes, if you use high quality balloons, you can inflate them 2-3 days before your event.

Hi! I love this! I have a quick question. Is there a reason you prefer using the balloons rather than string to assemble the garland?
I’ve never tried string. I started out with balloon ribbon. That popped the balloons. Then I moved on to fishing line. That didn’t work as well on the bigger balloon displays. Now I use 260q balloons. Works better than the other two options.

After the event do you break down the background? So you can reuse everything but the balloons of course.
Yes, that's correct. I go back to my client's event after it ends to break everything down and pop the balloons.
You mentioned the 3 sizes you used to build your garland are these 3 sizes used for all 3 colors or just for specific colors? For example did you use 11” 17 24 for the green or just 11” 24? I apologize if i am off with the sizes stated. I struggle when placing appropriate sizes not want to over do it
For my balloon garlands, I like to buy all of the colors in all of the sizes (except 36”). But if not, I’ll buy each color in at least 3 different sizes.

I just blow up different sizes together. I don’t use 5-inch or 9-inch balloons until the end (to add my final touches, fill in gaps, and shape it).
This colour combination is everything! In the event that one of the base balloons pop how do you replace it without it affecting the other balloons?
That’s a good question. I would have to show you in a video because it’s hard to explain. But basically I would add another balloon using a 260q balloon or fishing line.
So pretty! Do you prefer the 260q balloons over using the plastic garland strips? If so, why? Going to be doing my first one soon and not sure which is easier/better. Thank you!!
I’ve never used a plastic garland strip. When I first started making my balloon garlands, I used ribbon. Then I switched to fishing line. Now I use 260q balloons.

About how many balloons you used? Do the the balloons on the day of the party or could be a day after?
I put the number of balloons in the description of this video. You can setup the balloons the day before (depending on the brand of balloons you use).

Good question! I sprayed it with hair spray to keep it in place. It sheds a lot.

Hi Kristina! Congratulations on your little bundle of joy! I used two boxes of panels to create my backdrop. You need 20 panels if you want to create the same size as mine.

How many days in advanced do you make these? I bought the balloons but I don’t know if I have to make them the day of the baby shower or if I can do this a day or two in advance. I don’t want them to start going flat. I bought the balloons from the link in your description btw.
Hi Melina! I normally blow up my balloons the day before the event. However, if you’re using the balloons in the description, you can blow up them up 3-5 days before the event. Just be sure to put them in bags and keep them away from vents and open windows.

These balloons last for a while. I’ve used balloons that were blown up 2 weeks before the event.
How do you get your stand to not fall over due to the weight of the balloons? My backdrop stand always fall over and I don’t even use this much balloons :(
What kind of stand do you have? Do you have a pipe and drape stand? Maybe you can add some weights to the bottom of your stand.
What is the best way to store the walls in between events?
Mine is rolled up and stored in my storage unit.
