You see, Mafuyu have a slight fever at first since she overworked herself too much. At first, it wasn't a problem until she constantly does her daily activities without taking any rest and she eventually collapsed at a bench on a park when Kanade found her while strolling on the street. Kanade then brought her to her home so she can rest and Kanade can watch over her.

I think that it honestly goes deeper, with Mizuki slowly becoming more like the Mafuyu of the past and their past self as well, and Secret Distance plus My Footsteps, Your Destination show that amazingly well. There's parallels with how Mafuyu and Mizuki are similar, with some of their lines being the same and said in the same manner and, at times, Mizuki's voice is similar to Mafuyu's in tone, with Mizuki being able to empathize with Mafuyu and understand how she feels, and Mafuyu calls them out on this, saying that they "selfishly empathize with (her)", creating a big parallel with how they are. Even their trained initial cards have that effect, with Mafuyu's being straightforward while Mizuki's reflection has their eyes have the lack of light Mafuyu has. Their parallels grow more as the story progresses, with Kanade and Ena having parallels as artists that feel as if their work isn't enough and being the one to save the one closest to them, Mafuyu and Mizuki, in a sense. All of 25ji have some sort of parallel within the group, and all of them struggle with some issues that they help eachother out with, with Ena's original issue being mostly resolved, Kanade's slowly changing with her resolve as a musician and as Mafuyu's "saviour", Mafuyu nearly being "saved", and Mizuki slowly pushing others away out of fear of being left by them if they're too close and lying to be closer to them.
This kind of just felt like me rambling about how I love 25ji's energy in a way of how their dynamics are. I rambled for fun, I should get a life.

@@dreamblossoms6659 definitely agree with that! It's also cool how Lower emphasizes this a lot, especially the relationships between the 25ji characters (love that song sm just for that.) In the chorus, Mafuyu and Mizuki share the lines that go 'if we are to be separated, if we lose our way' (if they disappear, etc) and Kanade and Ena sing 'if you will stay here with me, if I could keep you from leaving' (if they can save Mafuyu and Mizuki), which I think is really cool!
