What's old is new. I find that what some things young girls (preteen to teen and even thru college age) are all about now are things I associated with old ladies. I can remember in college no one wanted anything to do with anything rose scented, even room fragrance because only old ladies used it. This is what the young girls like now. Another example was the Vera Bradley bags. When I was growing up, that brand was only used by old, elderly ladies too. So I was shocked when my preteen girls told me all their friends had it and it was the latest craze. They went through that for several years and it came to where you saw that brand expand everywhere. If someone had told me that would happen back in the 70s, I wouldn't have believed it.

I’m in my 30’s and I absolutely love Anais Anais by Cacharel. It came out in the 70’s but I think most people think of it as one of the quintessential 80’s perfumes. I wanted something similar but not so dated, so I found a site that lets you search scents based on the combination of components, but literally all of the perfumes that came up were made in the 80’s. I always thought it smelled like all of 80’s pop culture got distilled into a bottle, and apparently I was basically right. Anais Anais really does have a scent profile that was almost exclusively used in the 80’s. Nothing similar has been made since 1989. I think I’m just gonna bite the bullet and buy a bottle so I can smell old and out of style for the rest of my life, or until they stop making it. If anyone knows of a very similar perfume that also somehow smells modern, I would love to hear about it, but I’m not sure it’s possible.

I'm very lucky to have a 4 fl oz. bottle of Interlude. It's getting harder to get & it goes for $70-$800 a bottle on Ebay now.

Florida Water is also used in some Latin spiritual practices.

It's known as a spiritual perfume, as well as its siblings Rose Cologne, Kananga Water and Sandalwood Cologne. Florida Water is a powerful spiritual cleaner.

My aunt would splash Florida water on us as an afternoon refresher. What memories that brings back. I recognized the bottle instantly😁

Love these scents! I was definitely born in the wrong decade as far as perfume goes. I also own Florida Water, Youth Dew, Chanel No 5, and several vintage Guerlain scents. Tonight I'm winding down for the night wearing Mitsouko. Love your channel and these beautiful perfumes! PS: try spraying a bit of Youth Dew in your bath water! You'll perfume your bath beautifully and not be overwhelmed by it! 🥰

Mitsouko is one of my absolute favourites. Love it even more than Shalimar. Guerlaine makes the best perfume. Dior'La dolche vita is good as well as Boucheron's Jaipur and Kashimir by Chopard.

I used to use Charlie in the 1970’s! Loved it at that time but went back to my Chanel No. 5 and a couple of Estée Lauder fragrances. I especially love “Private Collection” which is Estée Lauder vintage and was initially a fragrance she invented for herself. Loved this video!❤️

Youth Dew originally was a bath oil and was used daily. A few drops in a hot bath is absolutely beautiful and very soft smelling.

You forgot Joy! I have been wearing it most of my adult life and I'm 71 haha, Here's a blurb about it. "Joy is a perfume created for Parisian couturier Jean Patou by perfumer Henri Alméras in 1929. It is considered to be one of the greatest fragrances created and is a landmark example of the floral genre in perfumery."
