    Awesome! Needs:
    - Storage module (just cargo containers)
    - Defense module (with turrets on top)
    - Recreation module (just open space and inward facing seating with LCD screens for hanging out together
    - Kitchen/mess module
    - Refining/Assembly modules
    - maybe a module that holds a small cycle/speeder on a pad or garage.

    • @DreadWingKnight
      @DreadWingKnight Před 9 měsíci +1

      I actually have built a couple compatible storage modules, one of which was noticeably oversized compared to the others, and a refining/assembly module.
      The one that matches the size of the modules in the above save has 151 containers in it of a mix of medium and small.
      The oversized one has 39.
      They're not yet on the workshop but I may upload them.
      The refining/assembly module REQUIRES mods to work, since there are no vanilla small grid assemblers or refineries other than the survival pack.

      Technically, they already are, if you do something like this:
      - Place a small large-grid foundation in the ground/asteroid you want your station to be at, with a gravity generator if you're in space;
      - Place connectors to attach small-grid modules similarly to the video, or rotors with small rotor parts to directly build the rest of your station off of those (I would recommend connectors because they're much less Clang-y than rotors);
      - Where necessary, attach large-scale modules to be able to build any necessary large-grid-only blocks such as the medical room, refinery or more gravity generators if you get out of the max range of another.
      Voilà!

    it would be cool if the loader, helicopter and truck would fold up to the size and a module themselves.
    so you could drive a truck full of moduals to a location fold out one of the modules as a forklift and use it to unload the rest

    • @KyranFindlater
      @KyranFindlater Před 3 lety

      sometimes large trucks have built in 3-4 axis hydraulic robotic style arms, to unload stuff around/nearby the big truck. could do that with these, or an overhead gantry/crane thing to unload off the back or to the sides. Or the flatbed trucks can have a back ramp section for the forklift to drive onto and travel with the big truck.

    I'd definitely make some kind of refining module as you can rotor trick it but perhaps I'm misunderstanding the mod purpose

  • @clownymcclownerton1653

    You should see if you could attach the forklift to the trailer with the “forks”

    I could see a dropship being used for some of these modules, the solar panels one may not work

    Made something close to this inspired by Watch Dogs, with elevator that sends you to "the Bunker" but more like a mobile unit with piston doors, yes less space but more discrete than standard grid doors with a inner layer for clean look to not obstruct the outer color pattern with being hauled by my beefed SUV/ flatbed trucks/ semi's (cross platform trucks for any situation)

  • @CraigBrideau
    @CraigBrideau Před 3 lety

    I've done the modular base concept with a cruiser designed to haul the modules around: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2248712924 Most of the modules are meant for use in space but there is a starter base pod with a mini rover meant to be dropped from low orbit by the cruiser.
