2021 Virtual Veterans Day Ceremony | Thursday, November 11
The City of San Marcos invites you to watch a virtual Veterans Day Ceremony. Join us in honoring our veterans and their ongoing commitment to serve our community.
This ceremony features a virtual address from City of San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones emphasizing the Department of Veterans Affairs 2021 theme, “Remembering All Who Served.”
2021 Helen Bougher Memorial Park Flag Exchange Event Schedule | Thursday, November 11 from 10-11:15 a.m.
As part of remembering our veterans in 2021 a short Flag Exchange event will occur at the Helen Bougher Memorial Park on Thursday, November 11 by the San Marcos High School Junior ROTC students.
You are encouraged to visit Helen Bougher Park, where the All Veterans Memorial proudly stands. The park will be beautified with red, white and blue flowers and American flags.
10:00 a.m. Flag folding ceremony by the SMHS Honor Guard
10:15 a.m. Rifle team performance
10:50 a.m. Cadet speaker explains historical WWI background behind holding two minutes of silence at precisely 11:00 hours
11:00 a.m. Cadet announcement of a two minute silence
11:03 a.m. Cadet Bugler plays Taps
11:04 a.m. Cadets change the flag at Helen Bougher Memorial Park
11:15 a.m. Guests present invited to VFW for lunch
