Just for reference; the city that we live in is East Providence, but it's divided up into sections - the section I live in is Riverside, which is where the parade is held every year.

Thanks for posting. I lived in Riverside / EP as a child from 1977-1982. (I'm 51 now). I went to Watters Elementary. I seem to recall participating in this parade (or maybe July 4th?) as a Cub Scout. Pack meetings were at St. Brendens. I remember the parade route differently. I know we staged beside the brick building on Ailanthus (once a library?), and ended at the American Legion. Seems like we came down Willett Ave, not Turner. Do you remember that, or is my memory failing me? Anyway, very warm memories so many years ago.

My pleasure; I plan to record this year's parade as well.
I know exactly the area that you're talking about - for a while in the 80s, the parade would start at the old Riverside library on Ailanthus, would come down Bullocks Point before turning onto Turner, then down Willett to the Legion. At some point, they started kicking off the parade at Oldham, and then at the carousel. But the Legion is still where it ends, that hasn't changed.

@@JediPhoenix1976 Thank you for the confirmation. Back in those days I lived first at 3509 Pawtucket Ave, then moved to 25 Charlotte St. I lived there the day the old Riverside Kitchen opened. We were some of the first patrons.
