I think you are an excellent teacher, you make things look easy. That's also a sign of a guy that knows what he's doing. I am also a poncho guy with a 65 and 69 gto. Right up my wheelhouse and your videos are very informative and quality is excellent. Thank you Sir.
Thanks, nice to meet another Pontiac guy love the GTOs. I have enjoyed this CZcams journey and sharing what I have l learned over the years. Hoping for many more years.
EXCELLENT video brother! I will have to watch this in the garage on the big screen while doing body work!
Awesome! I will take all the views I can get. Fortunately your car doesn’t need much to get it straightened out.
Thanks for all the details on this. These videos will definitely help our project.👍
Great to here and I am enjoying seeing your bird come back to life as well.
I just popped in on my buddy's 69 Camaro restoration project. Talk about floor pan rust. I referred him to you and Louie at
First Gen and let him know that you guys lead the pack and teach not lecture.
Keep the good stuff coming Jon.
You are awesome! Thanks for helping grow this dream of mine and of Luis as well. Have a great weekend friend
That '68 is super curvy!
Very clean lines indeed,
Fantastic! Very helpful! Amazing !
Thanks!
Nice demo. Ohhhh nooo get those wheels covered!
Lol crap you saw it. I need to find my large trash bags. Those work great for tire/wheel covers.
Very nice job!!!👍🏽
Thanks buddy and Thank you for your continued support and watching, this doesn’t happen without you. Appreciate your time.
nice process Jon. I found on my 69, the round block to work well in that area. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I have a round block too. I just for some reason just don’t like it. I find almost every time I go with that long block. I even sat the round block out to use it and still didn’t bother.
Trunk Mawl the Persuasive was an interesting fit as your whomper of 4 by 2's buffer for interesting compound curves.
Using what’s a hand and it seems to work
The edge of that flat block will give nearly the same results as a round block if you use the right technique as you demonstrated. You can make your own custom blocks from different foam materials like the round foam used to insulate copper hvac tubing or the sheets of foam used in shipping boxes for items like flat screen tv`s and radiators. You can just cut out the size and shape you need and whats nice about these blocks is they are a little more compliant around curves and edges so they dont gouge so easily. This type of block is especially useful for contour blocking primer in final stages. Keep rolling.......
Very well said. I do like the round blocks for sanding primer but to get the shape I prefer flat for some reason.
Great job my brother Anyone that does any kind welding to a car and says that they do not use a little body filler they just are plain simple liars you always have to use a little Filler because the metal get a little warped with the heat no matter what Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Both you and Jon are great with the share .
Thanks again guys
@@twobeards6714 anytime my brother
Yes sir, keep the filler at a minimum is the goal but it’s a necessary evil in this world.
Your doing great work! I hope to use to use your body tilt idea on my 1971 Pontiac Lemans GT-37 this year!
Thank you. That is great! A GT37 is definitely worth Saving

Trying recently got a mostly rust free shell. O e of 5802 made 71. Mine is a early one with D98 stripes later 71's where sword stripe cars.
Really should be using a round block, would make life easier.
👍
Thanks again Jon ! Keep the know how coming !! I look forward to all you do. You’re a great help to my project.
Very welcome and I appreciate your support and views as well. 5k subs here we come!
Excellent work!
Thanks and thank you for watching as well!
I see someone got themself a metal spreader.
Yes sir and still not sure if there is much of an advantage yet, I will keep playing with them.
😎🤘
😎👍
Love the video, We noticed that the car looks like a vinyl top car, we have the two farthest holes on the trunk - can you give an idea on the measurements for the studs across the back of the trunk and then from the drip rail, the distance of the three studs on the side of the car. Would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Kelly
I can definitely help you with that. I actually think that could be a helpful video too. I will get that put together real soon.
Also if they were an hour long that would be cool. ,,🤪
Lol. If my tablet had enough memory for a hour long video I might have to try it.
Doing it all I see, are you going to paint it yourself too?
Yes that is the plan. I feel this will be the last car I paint at home in the garage, it adds a level of difficulty but I wan to show that it can be done in your garage and still get very nice results in the end.
The price is right and so is the advice!! “Tell your teacher, below-average is good in this case” 😂
The finished product is way above-average, don’t get me wrong. That line I quoted just cracked me up
Finally below average wins!!! 👍
It’s cool I thought is was funny as well.
Question on sanding blocks, are they all the same or do you have a preferred manufacture. Starting to gather body repair supplies.
“Durablock”makes the ones I use. Several different sizes are available. My favorite one is the 24” block I use it the most. I believe they sell a kit reasonably priced online with assorted sizes and shapes.
@@VinylVillageGarage Will check the kit out. Going to be a few months till my project is at the body work stage, getting supplies ready now.
@@dpin6072 good plan. Nothing worse then hitting a road block because you need more supplies or tools.
