The ‘Tao’ can be a difficult concept for the uninitiated to grasp. In appropriating the concept of ‘The Force’ from the mythology of the fictional Star Wars universe, and making it synonymous with the ‘Tao’, the text is immediately more accessible to many who might otherwise find it impenetrable.
Associating ‘The Force’ with the ‘Tao’ is not a new idea. Through the work of Joseph Campbell, George Lucas incorporated many ancient concepts into his creation of the Star Wars universe. For many, the similarities between ‘The Force’ and Lao Tzu’s ‘Tao’ are clear. The truth, explicitly stated in the first chapter of the work, is that both ‘The Force’ and the ‘Tao’ are just names for a real underlying truth we find hard to comprehend. This book attempts to illuminate that truth.

Inside each and everyone of us is our power, but to tap in to the force and fully unlock it we must give up our desires, fear, greed, and quest to search outside of ourselves for the truth. This truth can't be fully empirical, like the same way light has a twin, the physical and the wave. When energy is free from physical/ mental confinements it can reach an equilibrium or some may call it peace where we truly embrace compassion which connects to the whole and disconnects us from desires on the selfish side of the force. Chapter 50 - Survival it says "3 in 10 people cling to their lives and make no preparation for death. Another 3 in 10 people waste their lives being fixated on death. And another 3 in 10 people pursue life in death. But 1 in 10 people fear neither life nor death. They can travel through dangerous lands, survive encounters with dangerous animals and avoid lethal attacks."
I've been the first 3 kinds of people in different stages of my past, and am now learning how to be a Jedi who does not fear death nor life. I've read the Tao Te Ching before, but listening to it this way was a great refresher and I have shared it with starwars fans who didn't know about this ancient wisdom. Thanks for the upload! :)

You can feel the chi. Lie down, relax, and stay still and quiet. You will feel sensations of chi moving thru you and around you. It is what sustains life and keeps your body system going. Tingling or warmth can be felt if you allow yourself to do so. Be very open to receive. I do this every afternoon for healing and repair. You can do it before you sleep too. Befriend the chi and it will help you. If you practice Qigong, you can feel it more. It feels like a very subtle but noticeable sticky air.
Although I can’t get enough of different interpretations of the “Tao” but I understand that it is infinite…the “Tao” that can be explained is not the “Tao”

@@Bcuervo83 the tao that can be told is not the eternal tao. God is a tag, very limited and misconceived, assigning human like attributes to something greater. Now, if u pay attention to the beginning of the work, u might catch it. It is very clear, u can't miss it if u listen to it. Like in that mythological book, one of the main characters said: those who have ears, listen.
Rick Springfield sings a line in his song the tao of love: when the heart is ready, the teacher will come.

Difficult to say what will work specifically for you - but self-motivation is a bit like a muscle. The only way to strengthen it and give it more endurance is through training and practice. Difficult to jump straight to continuous hard work - perhaps build-up to that over a month or three?
