This is a great video. I wonder if there is a way to update now with girls in Scouts as well. Either way I plan on showing this today even if its slightly outdated because it makes very great points
video is uplifting promoting God, but not factual as visioned by LDS. Jesus Christ was God and provides the ONLY atonement for all sin, something LDS does not sponsor.
I never knew who wrote/directed this until just now. Wanted to thank you. We share this at every basic training we hold as well as at least once a year at Roundtable. Nothing helps remind leaders of the important work they do than watching this video. A hush fills the room every time; I think it helps leaders remember it's about more than awards.
This is one of my favorite Scouting videos. It has been hard to find at times. Thank you for producing it and doing an EXCELLENT job. The music and pictures are moving!
This is a great video I love sharing with scouts. Although the LDS has officially pulled out of scouting, these words still stand strongly towards scouting's purpose and values. I am not LDS, but our council continues to support many LDS Scouts who stuck with the program even after the changes in policy.
If thier is a duty to God then the Boy Scouts should make sure that all survivors are satisfied with the conclusion of thier lien on the bankruptcy plan now in the courts! To minimize any ones trauma, no matter the duration at its inception or the amount if percieved abuse will be a great injustice! A hundred years of abuse is probably a reason for a "death sentence"?
Love the video! Where did you find those recordings of Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne? It would be great to hear those voices talk about the Scout Oath and Law.
Linda Thrall Scout oath and scout law are not the motto scout law is: a scout is: trustworthy loyal helpful friendly courteous kind obedient cheerful thrifty brave clean and reverent. And the oath is: on my honor I will do my best to do my duty to god and my country and obey the scout law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight
That is debatable; both are correct. In one fo the recent Boy's Life articles it said both are correct and the author was also asking scouts to go online for a survey to see which way scouts prefer it.
i dont believe in god, i already know most of the stuff they would teach me, and i don't have the money to pay for this. yeah im not joining the gay scouts.
We used this as the opening for our son's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Decisions determine destiny indeed!
This is why my daughter is a Cub.... they have always kept FAITH AND DUTY TO GOD at the center
I was on the fence with putting my kid in scouts. This video helped with my decision
Wonderful, uplifting and inspiring video on Duty To God.
Such an awesome video! THANK YOU I have shared with scouts of all ages.

I love this video it's so inspiring for scouts to keep going no matter what.
I aint Mormon but I do agree with the fact that the Boy Scouts brings boys closer to God.

Thank you for the post. Using as an arrow in our quiver as resource to show our pack "Duty to God"

not true. that is an old regulation.
Each troop decides their policy on this.
Eagle scout here. Always hated the religious nationalism aspect of Scouts. Very dystopian/North Korea-like. I did my duty to humanity and my world.
How far the Scouts have fallen. Now the goal of the organization seems to be to forsake God.
All they care about is money now. Its kinda disappointing

Meh your loss, most of my best memories were in scouting. And the experience and knowledge will serve you throughout your life.
Well, I wouldn’t be in scouts if it was gay.
