    SYNOPSIS:
“It’s about time. It’s about space. About two men in the strangest place.” Those catchy opening lines to the iconic theme song for It’s About Time primed Baby Boomers every Sunday night during the 1966 television season for a series unlike any other.
Created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz (Gilligan’s Island, The Brady Bunch), the time travel comedy stars Frank Aletter as Mac and Jack Mullaney as Hec, two astronauts who find themselves in prehistoric times after breaking the time barrier. Soon after landing, they meet Gronk (Joe E. Ross, Car 54 - Where are you?) and Shad (Imogene Coca, Your Show of Shows), two friendly cave people who find the ways of those from “the other side of the hill” strange but interesting.
A fish-out-of-water series in the vein of The Beverly Hillbillies and The Munsters, fans the world over will have the same reaction to this complete series collection of this rarely-seen show -- IT’S ABOUT TIME!
    A 4-DVD Set.
    BONUS FEATURE:
An interview with Pat Cardi who player “Breer” on It’s About Time

@@thomasturner3583 Did we see that capsule in Gilligan's Island, when the Russians landed in the lagoon? All I remember was that the inside of the Russian capsule was big (it was a room you could walk around in!) and there was a side table with a Samovar on it!!! The samovar chimney had a pipe on it that went to the wall, and presumably out into space??!!?? It puzzled me. To an engineer this capsule is hilarious, it's more like a tiny house with a door, it's funny to see how they caught the style of spacesuits (say) but they're still obviously props.

I was six when this show was on, and yes, I loved it! I'm surprised that the old film has held up. Many shows that didn't make it didn't get preserved, the ones on videotape almost never got saved. I love how bright the colors were in these old shows, many proudly had the Technicolor logo in the credits.
My big brother would sing this theme song, but with changed lyrics that lead to me getting clobbered:

Sherwood Schwartz's second TV series shot and filmed at CBS Studio Center with "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND" and produced in association with United Artists Television (MGM owns this series and Warner Bros.Entertainment owns "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND" through the 1986 acquisition of MGM/UA by Turner Program Services which Turner and Time Warner merged in 1996) this rare CBS sitcom from Fall 1966 was a strange oddity-was Schwartz thinking about science fiction or THE FLINTSTONES? hard to say, but at least this show is known for its catchy lyrics if anything! Frank Aletter at the time, was the husband of actress Lee Meriwether, who was working on ABC-TV's "THE TIME TUNNEL" that same fall season. after this CBS sitcom left the airwaves in 1967, Frank Aletter found himself on "Danger Island", the Richard Donner directed serial for NBC and Hanna-Barbera Productions' "THE BANANA SPLITS ADVENTURE HOUR" in 1968.

Some years ago I heard a young female representative of Turner Network Television (TNT) tried to deflect then-current demands for more educational content on kids' TV. She contended that "The Flintstones", for ex., should be considered an educational program b/c it taught kids about history (!). When questioned by the press, it turned out she sincerely believed that cavemen and dinosaurs had lived together. She was just another dumb, if attractive, home-schooled Evangelical from the Atlanta area that was Turner's HQ.
