    In the example given at 11:44, isn't this pattern a periodic non-rhythmic pattern and thus not ictal at the onset? There appears to be an inter-discharge interval.

    given neurofeedback can retrain the baseline (and bring coma patients out of comas) how does that factor in

    Question: isn't 11:48 a Global Periodic Discharge just by the nature that it has an inter-discharge interval as you explain in 7:44 ?
    So you wouldnt need to go down the decision tree because the pattern isn't rhythmic at all, right?

      I think what you're saying is true, but I think he's just using it as an example of working through any repetitive discharges that are abnormal and sustained.
