I feel like fit is important to the quiet luxury style too. Love that you addressed this style for a plus size! ❤❤
You’re most welcome. We are all worthy of feeling like a million bucks! 😉💕
I am getting so tired of fast, trendy cheap material made fashion. I would love to see you do a video on old money style for Apple shape petite body. Featuring high end quality fashion in natural fibers of cotton, wool, linen and silk. This would be great in helping to guide one on building a curated closet of only the best.
Fantastic idea, Dori. I’ll follow up for sure! 😃💕
@@Oralia_Martinez love your video. I want to do quiet luxury as well but a lot of these pieces come off as preppy. I personally just don’t look or feel good in preppy clothes. I come from a goth raver background. While I’m not running around in white face paint or neon rave anymore - is it possible to do quiet luxury that has more of an alternative / hard edginess to it ? Thanks 🙏
@indigodande4345 Yes! Make sure that what you’re picking up has quality, is minimal but has edge to match your punk/goth style. So maybe accessories with hardware, or that lean more rock/punk mixed with clean, minimal pieces. Also your hair can be an edgy avant- garde style. It’s really all about the contrast between the classic/minimal and hard/edgy in your outfit. And you can have pops of color - a lip, a shoe, a belt, etc.
All very nice looks. A favourite was the white pants. 👍🏻
you come across as a "class act" yourself - I have put weight on over my menopausal years and somehow lost my previous confidence in my own style - I am on a journey back despite my waist size and you are a phenomenal inspiration - I just subscribed
Aww, thank you! 🙈 And welcome! 👋🏼

Oralia does an excellent job of helping women to take pride and love themselves, no matter your size.
I myself struggle with weight as an older woman with health issues. Oralia is a breath of fresh air. I dont dress as much like her but have learned some invaluable tips and some self confidence! I cannt afford some of the fashions or accesories but i can shop around for better value and create my own look that i can love!
If you don't like her opinions, don't listen or subscribe. There is no need to be rude and insulting. Find someone whose ideas align with yours. SMH
I love this video. My wardrobe is full of Brooks Brothers casual as well as professional styles. I’m so disappointed that they have discontinued their petites as I have many cotton petite blouses that are still in good shape. This video pretty much typifies my style choices.
That's a bummer. That's the nice thing about a place like Brooks Brothers, though - they're made to last! 😉
Love the plaid gray pants with white shirt with blazer! Definitely quiet luxury.
Thank you!
I just found your channel, and am an instant fan. You really know your stuff and present it so well.
This was a great video! Would love to see you do a video on plus size luxury fashion as well, and thoughts on shopping at luxury designers.
That is an excellent idea and one that I will follow up on! 😉💕
I know alot of view points are shared in this comment section and this is an older video but I appropriate and love this thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely LOVE you in this style. It is SO clean and beautiful. Dress me, Oralia! ❤️
Thank you so much!! I have a little something in the works. 😉
Wow! That was an excellent video on this subject, Oralia! I love your examples that you wear. Many thanks!
So glad you enjoyed it, Julie. I have a capsule wardrobe video coming, too!
Old money is not minimalist, it's heritage/tradition driven. Minimalist rarely wear patterns, and can have bold silhouettes. While old money has tweeds, checks, floral and heritage prints in simple, well cut silhouettes. Quiet luxury is new items that are expensive. Old money is having the same items of quality (not necessarily expensive ) that lasts for decades. You can tell quiet luxury from old money by the furniture. If it's new, it's quiet luxury. If it was old and inherited, it's old money.
Good distinctions, thank you for sharing! 😉💕
Also, within Old Money there are also different aesthetics depending on the person, place, season, etc. There is the preppy / academic look, the hunting inspired look, the yachting / boating look for summer especially, what I would call the British colonial look (definitely more colourful as inspired by India), the country lady look, etc.
Very true!
A lot of these people talking about quiet luxury, old $$ haven't the foggiest idea.
I REALLY enjoyed this video. I've been a bit overwhelmed with this topic popping up on my feed (both IG and YT) but your explanations were succinct and easy to digest - "Old money isn't looking for show what they have, b/c they've had it for a while. It's nothing 'new' and therefore nothing to show off." That is SO true! Whenever you've had something for a while (or grew up with it) it's luster (not value, just luster) tends to lose its gloss with you. That doesn't mean you don't enjoy it as much, but it's gone from something you covet to something that's now apart of your everyday lifestyle. Big aha moment for me - thank you ma'am!
You’re most welcome! 😉
Very impressed with your video
Thank you! 😃💕
Just found your channel and absolutely love it.
Welcome! Glad you enjoy it! 😃

You are so welcome!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Hello, I found your channel through The Quiet Poet. Loving your style.
Oh thank you!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Where do you buy belts for larger folk? I've been having a hard time finding belts that fit my waistline.
Plus size stores should have them.
I am so happy I found your channel. New subbie for sure.
Thanks for subbing!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! I am so sorry for the late response! 😳
love this video Oralia/thank you for all of your ideas XXX
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Hi. Would you consider doing a piece on shoes for plus sized wonen?
With Fall coming, there's going to be a shoe video coming! I do have a summer shoe video, you can watch here: czcams.com/video/LA8D1IbD3jI/video.html 😉
Hi Oralia, love all of your pictures. I'm planning to buy Gucci belt. Would love to see your Gucci belt in jeans.
I love the outfits you are wearing and apprecuate the kinks. Can you let me know which store carries the black trousers
They're an older pair from Nordstrom and are no longer available. Here's the link to a similar pair bit.ly/43aRzFv 😉
Agree 💯 ❤
So glad you enjoyed it!
Love the link necklace your wearing.... where from?
So sorry, it's an older necklace from Express. 🤦🏻♀️💕
I love this video and the tips you gave. I think the one thing that threw me was throwing in a birkin bag after saying we DIDN'T need the generational wealth hahha
What do you recommend for vegan purses and belts, I’m vegan and no longer buy animal products. Thanks
My lady, love type long sleeve shirt you're wearing in this post. Long sleeve blue stripe, where does you purchase it?
I got it from H&M but I thinks it’s sold out. 🙈
Outside of clothes, what do people do now? sell all their designer bags? I love scarves, but I live in Florida and it gets hot. I like the way you explained this. It's very palatable, when others talk about this Quiet Luxury comes across insulting to people who buy logo bags like Channel, LV, Dior, YSL etc. handbags. It's as though you should feel ashamed of owning these bags.
Yeah, some bring it across that way. It’s a style choice, really. If you love it, wear it. The joy of how it makes you feel will come through and it’s really all about how you feel about yourself that matters. No one else’s opinion should take that away from you. 😉💕
Just wait 2-3 years and labels will be in fashion again and all these label designer bags will be far more expensive than they are now 😂
I live in Florida and plan to use my scarves once I receive my Birkin dupe lol. I love colors way too much but I’ll definitely use that aesthetic for my work.
I just found your channel and I am very open to what your views
Welcome! 👋🏼
Ha! That’s my name. You and I have the same name!
Where do you buy those gorjus pants in your video?!?!
I got them from Eloquii. 😉💕
That big honking V on your belt at 5:30 is the antitheses of quiet luxury.
True, but I really love the quality of it, and we all should stay true to what makes us happy in our personal style. In essence, I know the rule and have chosen to break it. 😉
👏🏽🥰💕😊
I think you would look very pretty in a red dress and dresses and skirts. Just because the classic “old money” style is there, doesn’t mean everyone looks good in it Oralia. Trousers, button downs are not attractive on plus sizes. Beautiful draping pants and tops are.
You can never spot an aristocrat in this country by their clothes, particularly men. They tend to wear clothes they’ve had for years ( if they’ve kept their figure ). Very often wearing their father’s blazers and overcoats. Always classic shapes and colours. The ladies of course are a very different thing. Still classic pieces that will not date.
be careful that your stripes dont look like pjs
So whyte people in classic clothes,
Not quite. Classic style suits everyone, regardless of race or ethnic background. 😉💕
I say look the best that you can but you will never look chic being overweight, the two just don't go together. Hair, skin, teeth and physique are the basic components of looking high class. As a sidenote (not trying to be rude or funny) but it's important to have impeccable oral hygiene (at least in the US) and you should have your teeth cleaned and tartar removed on your front teeth; then keep up a strict flossing regimen to keep it from coming back. Problematic hygiene/grooming are a tell tale sign of being lower class. Lots of upper class girls have a grunge/coachella aesthetic but their hair, highlights, skin and oral care will still be on point.
Wow. I'm glad you at least value good oral hygiene...
You know what another tell-tale sign of being lower class is? Being rude and insulting.
Ignore the trolls & haters. I think anyone can look chic as long as the fit & proportions match the individual.
Huh? There hasn't been in the history of this look and the world where this size is shown as 'luxury'. Get a diet, then new clothes.
Obesity is considered lower class! Old money is never overweight. So before you judge new money people for being flashy, you might take a look in your fridge.
That’s a bit rough, don’t you think? Everyone deserves to look and feel elegant, beautiful, and expensive, regardless of size.
Clearly you do not know history. Obsession with being thin is a modern thing and was not always considered desirable. Just look at painting by the Old Masters.
Secondly, Oralia is talking about a fashion aesthetic here. Nobody is going to think you are old money just because you wear a blazer. Especially not with that attitude. Rudeness is considered lower class. Old money is never rude or disrespectful
Your rude, clearly common with no manners.
Also hopefully in these times we recognize that people are individuals who not only can look different but also can have health issues. One’s weight is not always a ‘choice.’ sometimes it is a result of a health condition.
Manners are also far classier than rudeness but here you are…
