Garnt saying he prefers the later seasons of Game of Thrones might genuinely be the worst take ever made on trash taste
GOT goes so deep so it makes sense if youâre just watching the show with your brain off and not putting the pieces together. I had friends who literally couldnât tell any character difference from the early seasons. Or how people just abandoned their entire goal / growth for legit no reason.
The reason the show is bad is for the points I mentioned ^ the action, battles, cinematography are all great. So if your brain is off youâre just enjoying the hype and battles (which are good)

Shows: Connor seems to be the one that values the most well written + complex and interesting characters + well written twists, etc.
Games: Connor just wants to press buttons that make things happen. While, Garnt and Joey look for games that capture them via their characters, world, lore, personalities, interactions, etc.
And we can go on identifying different tastes depending of what we're talking abt.

I'm American and I studied abroad in London in May - June of 2022. Unfortunately I also got covid there and had to quarantine for 14 days in a Travelodge. British cable/reality TV basically got me through quarantine with my sanity at least partially intact lol! Hearing Connor and Garnt discuss all these British tv shows from Connor's 3x3 is kinda surreal to me because after coming back to the US, it was pretty clear to me that very few people had heard of shows like Peepshow or Come Dine With Me. I'm not trying to make this comment some big, deep, emotional thing but it's just kind of nice to know that what I experienced wasn't all some wild fever dream lol. British tv is wild.

When I almost lost my leg and was in hospital for months and couldn't even go to the bathroom without help, my Grandma paid for me to have TV in my room and there was a Mythbusters marathon on. Uneven ground is too painful to walk on with the nerve damage and it sucks because I live near the Rocky mountains. Has to be some of the most glorious hiking on the planet.
It was a break that was akin to a crush injury and they were unsure if it could heal. But I still have my leg and I can walk so I smashed all their expectations.
Mindhunter is amazing because the show was produced by David Fincher, the guy that directed Zodiac and Seven, two of the best serial killer movies. Healso directed most of the episodes.

Mad Men and the Good Place are my 2 favorite shows!! Excited to see them mentioned in the podcast. The Good Place is just such a good show, that really requires you to do some deep thinking about how you treat people and interact with the world. Totally not surprised it was Garnt who brought it up! It makes sense the past monk is the one who saw the value, some Buddhist values are brought up, especially a very important part of the last season.
David Tennant has been in a few tv shows recently. I recommend you watch Good Omens in which Tennant plays the demon Crowley. The show is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and there's a new season coming out in 2023.

I assume he just isn't into more realistic settings, and the premise of Breaking Bad might just not fit all his preferences. I feel the same about Arcane, in that the show can be the best of all time, but I just don't care about League of Legends.

@@cliffchai3742 prequels arent bad(except 2), they are decent and even good and maybe even great if you watch Clone Wars Series/ Bad Batch amplifies the series to another level but Watching the 3rd trilogy you start to understand how much better the Prequels really are when it comes to the "feel" of Star Wars.

Something I love about this podcast is how even when the boys might not be interested or know what the others are talking about, they try to be attentive and try to understand and aren't dismissive.

While not an anthology series, LEGION really gave off that sorta vibe. For a long time especially in season 1 and 2 it felt like someone wanted to make a bunch of beautiful short films, but make them all have a cohesive plot to string together.

This episode was really good! I put a couple of them on my watch list and it brought up a lot of memories of shows i watched on cabel with my dad. Like when they talked about dr who i remembered i used to watch heartbeat and barnaby
the amount of seething anger and disappointment i feel when they utter the word "superman is boring" is unbelievable. Like garnt just put the best representation of superman on the 3x3 and one of the show that proves superman is not boring lol

Watching this made me realize how I literally couldnt even come up with 9 shows to put on a list if you dont count anime, but it was still a fun watch cuz I've still heard of almost all of these shows and seeing and hearing them explain said shows is interesting

i also loved 'the good place'. i don't tend to watch american shows, but my therapist recommended it so i gave it a chance. the show itself was far more profound than i first took it for, and the finale was incredibly thoughtful and touching. i cried too. solid show. (but still, arcane is the best show i've ever seen in my life. 1,000/10)

Yeah, Grant likes the Star Wars prequels over the sequels, because they had more Jedi stuff and lightsaber fights. Also explains why he'd prefer the later seasons of GoT, there were more dragons and badass fights in them... He doesn't really seem to care much about quality, but visuals instead.

Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide (2005) is a very funny show. Hope more people can get to know it
I remember watching that show when I was in community college.
