Tesla is so tight-lipped about the battery information. I have read that LFP cells have been bench tested to 5K cycles without serious degradation. If that translates to anywhere near that is the real world: 250 miles per charge * 4K cycles = 1,000,000 miles. That pack ought to last quite a while, might even outlive the owner.
I’ve watched quite a few Tesla videos and I enjoyed watching yours the most! It is a very real and more relatable for everyday people. I also purchased a 2023 Model 3 RWD and looking forward to driving it, thanks for making this video.

Had the LFP model 3 RWD 2023 for a year now no regrets free charging, cheap insurance and 70 bucks cost of services in a year. Save 4000 dollars in fuel in 1 year best thing i ever got.
Thanks for not saying you are 6 feet tall. Most car reviewers say they are 6 feet which I know isn't true. They are almost always shorter or taller than 6 feet. Just a pet peeve of mine. Great review!!
We just bought a '23 m3 rear wheel drive and love it. No problems so far and is very cheap to charge (level 2) off peak!
So for level 2 charging do you need a J1772 adaptor?

You should look into getting ceramic tinting to help with the heat rejection from the glass windows. My m3 is the exact same config as yours and it made a HUGE difference for the summer. No longer need shade blockers to block the panneramic roof after. Its pricey compared to regular tints but it helps pays for itself over time with the energy reduction it will provide during the summer for keeping the cabin cool.

For those of us who grew up with cars of the '60s, like the original body style Mustang, those doors aren't a problem.

Yeahh I wanna see the Hanshow upgrade because I have the same car and I was wondering if its worth the upgrade because all the videos I've seen of the installation don't show the result. You could show it lets say copy-right free music

It's probably one of the best cars for the money period. No question about it. Most of negatives about tesla are from people that actually never drove one, they believe the lies, because they are stupid.
I believe they sell themselves, it's like a viral product, the more there are, the more people will know about them, the more will buy them etc. I'm amazed about the misinformation out there and the wrong beliefs of people around me. Like yesterday I was 68 miles away from home with 44% battery charge and someone was worried I wouldn't have enough to get home. Doing a light-show for neighbours they were worried the battery would run out even though it would have enough capacity to run their house for at least 5 days. Saying to my barber I was now considering driving from the UK to Portugal instead of flying because I now have an EV he was shocked and said "Good luck with that" etc etc
My Model 3 reality is so much different from what 90% of the public believe.

I have a new Tesla 3 and absolutely love it . I will never go back to gas car again. This car is so advanced compared to most gas powered cars in the same price range.
It’s advanced but I hate having to charge it every other day or every often going on a 2hr drive when my previous Lexus ES 300h used to give me atleast 2 weeks drive before filling up tank again . Having to stare at the screen to select or change settings is another pain when you can just have the convenience to press a button like to change seat heating or wiper settings
The speaker activation upgrade is well worth it

I really like my Tesla a lot..You mentioned the over steer, Mine tends to under steer but I really can not compline about it I generally like the way it rotates in a decreasing radius turn . I have yet used the auto pilot in my car…”No opportunity “ . I do have a question or two, where did you get the overhead sun blocker panel? And where did you get the carpet covers? I Need some.. Over all I really enjoy my Model 3 . My next expense will be the Atlas tilt screen adapter.. Tesla needs to make battery level icon green color and not black, as ig used to be and a bit larger
best value for its price, a great fun 🚗car to be able to charge 100% regularly so the range is about the same as a long range limit to 80% daily charging.
Charging it regular still isn’t healthy for everyday use. You should do 80-90 percent on the lfp too. Lfp just takes less stress more resistant for 100 doesn’t mean you should do it daily. It doesn’t matter what battery but 100 a everyday is not good. Overcharging is also bad.

Thanks for the video. Coupla things for points of clarification: the $7500 tax credit, to my understanding (not a tax professional) is a reduction in your taxable income of $7500 next year, not a $7500 refund. Starting Jan 1 2024 the $7500 tax credit turns into a point of sale rebate, so you do actually get $7500 off the sticker price of the car. Buuuut, and this is a big “but”, there is nothing in the law to prevent car makers from simply deciding to increase the price of their cars by a magical $7500. So we shall see how that plays out.
I have mad my T M Y 7-seater for about 8 months now. Although it is not perfect and sometimes the app glitches and I can’t make the car fart at the exact right time, or I sometimes have to take my phone out of my pocket to unlock the doors because the Bluetooth doesn’t work fast enough, or the dang sentry mode keeps on even though I set it to exclude home, or the automatic door lock on walk away keeps happening even though I set it to exclude home, it’s still the best car I have ever owned, by far, and I am always looking for excuses to drive it whenever and wherever I can.
Hey my friend. I'm sorry to hear you have a couple of small issues as well but I totally agree that it's super fun, the best car I've owned and that I love to just drive it for no reason sometimes!
As I understand it, the EV Tax Credit is not a reduction in taxable income, but rather a reduction in the amount of taxes owed. So for example, someone making $90,000 in one year in a state with no income tax, filing as Single, would owe $12,568 in Federal income tax. With the EV Tax Credit, their tax liability would be reduced by $7500, meaning they would owe the government a total of $5068 in income tax for that year. So, assuming they withheld at least the original amount owed for income taxes, they would in fact receive a refund of any amount paid over $12,568 plus an additional $7500. Since I pay over $7500 in Federal income tax, it will effectively lower the cost of my vehicle by that amount, from about $39,500 to around $32,000 plus the interest on my car payments.

Would you get a model y instead if you had the choice?
The Model Y is worth it over the 3 if the following applies:
You need to install/remove child car seats frequently
It's difficult for you to get into and out of low cars
You want to be able to camp out in your car
You want the ability to tow light trailers
If someone didn't care much about those things, then the Model 3 is perfect and arguably looks and handles a bit better. However, since this review was made, Tesla released a new RWD Model Y that is only $5K more than the RWD Model 3. I would say that if the increased ride height, crossover/hatchback design, and utility that the Y provides for that price point is more than fair. The acceleration (despite being the new slowest Tesla) is still relatively quick at 6.6s, and the range is only slightly less being 260 miles on a full charge. Hope this helps.
Noticed your 80% charge. Do you charge to 80% even though you have an LFP battery?
Thanks very much for a common sense review. We need more everyday common sense cars like this instead of the huge, inefficient trucks and adventure vehicles manufacturers are producing.
I charge to 100% on a daily basis. From what I’ve seen the batteries are pretty durable over time even doing so; I drive and use at least 20% of the capacity almost every day so I’m not concerned about it. I filmed most of this after work so I already had used some of the battery.
Nice practical review. Thanks. I am thinking about the Highland M3 when it comes out. I am also 6’ 4” and find the M3 comfortable. Also, it is fun to drive.
I have a LFP battery as well but I keep mine at %80 for daily and I’ll charge it to %100 once a week or if I’m going on long trips
6.8% sale tax? where did you took delievery of new M3? I am picked up in Seattle and the tax was $2,500, after tax exemption up to $20,000
I took delivery in Vancouver. It's possible that the numbers I provided for tax were inaccurate but I know my tax was not that high.
How does rear wheel drive hold up in rain and snow
I haven't driven it in these conditions yet, I'll try to make another video later in the year as we get more of that weather.

only thing I have with the tesla is why doesn't navigation accept gps coordinates which I have been using for 30 years?
Hmm, I haven't ever tried to put in coordinates but that would be a good feature for them to add for sure. I was able to set my work location even though it doesn't have an address however, so if your coordinates are for somewhere you frequently travel to then you could try setting it as a saved location in your favorites.
@@SuperAwesomeWeirdGuy solution is for now to put them in google maps on your phone then export/share the google link with the tesla app. but if you have a google route it won't share all the waypoints.

Pretty simple to change the 5mph limit on AP.
The only limit I know of is the 85 mph limit which I believe is supposed to be changing soon also. That limit is because it was as fast as they felt confident that the computer could safely keep up. Either SuperAwesomeWeirdGuy is driving on 80mph highways or he has a setting wrong. I want to say that there is a setting that will limit you to a certain amount over, but it's just a setting that can be changed.
At 13:36 the screen shows that AP is on, speed limit is 55 mph and he has it set to 64 mph (9 mph over the speed limit)....
@@SaculmitAt 13:36 I was using FSD, not Autosteer. I currently have 3 months of free trial for that, after that expires I’ll be limited to 5mph over the posted limit (or whatever the car thinks the posted limit is)
@@SuperAwesomeWeirdGuy that’s what I was saying. Auto steer can go as much over the speed limit as you set up to 85mph.

I do not agree about say MACH-E having an on/off button, it is assuring to know the car is properly off. TESLAs use energy for all the stuff that is NOT off when you walk away.

This is not exactly true. If you disable sentry and cabin overheating protection it only loses about 1-2% per day of being parked, which is comparable to most other EV's.

@@williamscoggin1509 "Driving like a madman" is just hyperbole, a figure of speech. I'm not literally driving like a madman. As far as being limited to 5mph over, there are times on my daily morning commute where I will be passed by every other person on the road and honked at if I am not going at least ten over the posted limit. Additionally, the car always thinks a certain stretch is 25mph when it is actually 45mph.

Only if the car recognizes that it's on a divided highway. If not it's limited to 5mph above the posted limit (or whatever the car thinks it is)
