- Born in Madrid, Laura Morera joined the Royal Ballet School aged 11 and duly graduated into The Royal Ballet in 1995. After 27 years in London, during which she has evolved into one of The Royal Ballet’s most versatile principal dancers, she is retiring from the stage at the end of the season to work as a répétiteur. In this filmed interview she talks passionately about her extraordinary career and her aspirations for the future.
She is a fantastic artist. Will be missed from the stage, but how lucky are the dancers who will now be coached by her.
Have always thought Morera the most compelling and finest dancer of her generation. This fascinating interview gives so many insights into performing Ashton, Macmillan, and Scarlett. Also, the dedication and balance needed to survive the ups and occasional downs of a dancer's life. With her natural warmth and empathy she will make a wonderful teacher in this new stage of her career.
Wonderful performer.
Thank you Dance Europe. Your interviews are always so fascinating and informative. Your format with the "invisible interviewer" is perfect and so respectful to your subjects.
Lovely lady and a wonderful dancer.
utterly fascinating 🙂
Sencillamente, te admiro Laura!!
I do wonder why she was never given Juliet. I think she would have been wonderful in it.
