  • Tony Parsons - 'The Open Secret' - Interview by Iain McNay
    'The Open Secret communication can only point to the simple wonders of being, and attempt to illuminate the futility of seeking for it. It does not accept or reject the teachings of spiritual path or process but it will expose, without compromise, the singular and fundamental misconception that drives the belief that there is something called a seeker that needs to find something else called enlightenment. The Open Secret does not compromise with the needs and expectations of the seeker. Neither does it attempt to attract or please with promises of an easy and pleasant experience of liberation. Who could promise that, and who would experience it? Because the idea of individual free will and choice is seen as an illusory dream, there is no agenda or intention to help or change individuality. As far as the apparent individual is concerned, there is nothing for sale here.' Tony talks here about Non-Duality and his early life and experiences. He is the author of several books including, "As It Is: The Open Secret of Spiritual Awakening" and "Invitation To Awaken: Embracing Our Natural State Of Presence".

    I'm so glad to find this video. I ceased to exist about 20 years ago. It was the most magnificent experience of my life. Totally spontaneous, I was riding on a city bus,looking out the window. It has been a little lonely because when I tell friends that we don't really exist and that is the best thing that could ever possibly happen, they get mad or laugh at me, then no friends. It's OK though, they just
    don't understand is all.

    So individuation is the conundrum? Fascinating. Excellent food for thought.

    What I like about the meetings is the fundamental questions that the participants ask. Practical and basic questions. Some are hilarious ! 🤣🤣🤣

    @moqutpar (continued) When "YOU" cease to exist you find yourself standing in the "RUSH OF CREATION". This is the direct, unfiltered, experience of each individual moment rushing into creation/experience(same thing). In this experience many things are understood in the blink of an eye. Among them is the knowledge that each moment is complete in and of itself and is totally independant of any other moment. It is we who string the moments together and experience them as continuity.

    1:36 "the dilemma for the individual is not the individual can't get what it wants. the dilemma is the individual."
    3:02 "there is nowhere to get to...there is no one to get there. the whole idea there is such a thing as individual free will and choice is totally exposed as a fallacy."
    3:22 "I would go as far to say, that the individual doesn't actually want this, because the individual fears most its own absence."

    @moqutpar (continued II) Another thing that becomes glaringly obvious in this experience is that there is no separation between you and your experience, none whatsoever. You ARE Creation/Experience(same thing). Try to understand though, the "you" that is reading these words is not the creator, it is the experiencer. You ARE the CREATOR but the "YOU" that is doing the creating is so far beyond the "YOU" that is reading these words that comparisons seem ridiculous. Yet there is no separation.

    @swingtrade2 Yes ! Absolutely ! All happens by grace. You nailed it. Existence IS a concept. Existence and non exitence. are equivalent. The relationship of my non-existence to existence is as a whirlpool to a river. Where does the river end and the whillpool begin? You cannot take a gyre home for it is not a thing, it is NO thing, a void at the center of a vortex of currents. From whence does the river come and to where does it flow? I can't answer that from personal experience.--- yet.

    We are co-creators in this world. It's easier to vanish into the big nothing of the so called 'wholeness' then to take on the responsibility to take your life into your own hands. Life Will bring you all you need, but it asks of a person to specify and live his special talent, in stead of waiting in an armchair at home for the bag of gold to fall into his lap. 'Trust in God, but tie your camel down...." If nothing needs to happen, there's no need for people to live.

    @moqutpar I understand that all this is of little help to anyone. But perhaps as you watch me try and completely fail to relate this experience to anything in your or my "normal"experience, as you watch me try and completely fail to come up with words that even come remotely close to describing the REALITY of this experience, maybe you can get some idea. All moments have one thing in common and that is an unspeakable power and magnificence of indescribable proportions. This IS WHO YOU ARE !!!

    we are on the planet to experience duality,
    The deeper that life scars you the higher your resulting frequency. He preaches yet another goal, aspiring to nothingness which no different to any other aspiration.
    He reminds me of people I knew in Alcoholics Anonymous who remained sober for a long time but did absolutetly nothing with their lives and talked about how happy they were. They were really empty, never really willing to contribute and only talked about themselves.

    Here are some spiritual teachers on youtube who have inspired me most in the past year or so.
    Eckhardt Tolle who says similar things to Tony Parsons but unlike Tony is changing the world, as is Byron Katie.
    If you have an open mind, Bashar, probably my favourite by a long way, he has some extraordinary stuff, and finally
    Abraham Hicks, the law of attraction, which is the foundation of the film The Secret

    @moqutpar Ahh, interesting point, That would explain the violent reaction I've received from some aspectsHowever I don't really see this as being a bad thing. I see it as being --------------- a mystery. Also, Yes! Sometimes it's best not to express this knowledge!! Few people know this better than I. But it is knowledge. It is something I KNOW from direct experience, not from a book. If I could describe it better people wouldn't be afraid. It is absolutely NOT something to be afraid of !

    @burmanhands Před 11 lety

    If a system creates itself from billions of intelligent cells - as a thinking human - it naturally believes it is autonomous as it starts to function in a reflex unconscious way.
    This idea of "self" lasts longer than the life of individual cells. The remedy is to allow each conscious cell to transcend or let go this concept and revert back to default unbounded awareness. The idea of a being separate then slowly evaporates, "I" slowly loses its potency and is replaced by the experience of "is".

    @moqutpar NEED is how an awareness presently involved in limitation experiences the almost inconceivable VOLTAGE behind the RUSH OF CREATION, you can call it love if you want but it's way beyond that ! You are on the right track my friend but I can tell by your use of "schizophrenic" and "only" that you are seeing it intelectually and have not experienced it. "Schizophrenia" is a disconnection of self from self. This is exactly the opposite. And "only" ? The word"only" isn't in the vocabulary

    • @PeterOzanne
      @PeterOzanne Před 3 lety +1

      Who? Answer: a lot of people who had the experience of childlike wonder of BEINGNESS, that's who! St. Catherine of Sienna, for example, had that feeling, and expressed it as God telling her "You are that which is not. I am that I am" - meaning "I am THAT which IS", i.e. Reality, Truth, Being, Life itself. This is another way of expressing the non-duality discussed here. Many sages and teachers have experienced and expressed the same - in different words according to varying culture and religious tradition. That includes Jesus, many Christian saints, and also many Hindus, Budhists, etc. God is not a person, but an experience.

    @moqutpar (continued lll) Unfortunately I know of know way to generate this experience. To think for a moment that there is ANYTHING you could do, or say or believe in order to earn or deserve or otherwise "acheive" this experience is laughable beyond words. My only suggestion? Form within yourself the INTENT and DESIRE then do what you can to forget everything you ever learned about anything and try to exist totally in the moment because the moment is the only REALITY there is

    Ok, so in no way, shape or form Tony is present at his meetings. Is this because he's physically not there and just runs a videotape... ;) , or does it have something to do with Bohimeon (who's named himself Bohimeon and so 'someone' operates on this physical level) agreeing to Tony Parsons comments? (yes, Tony who isn't there, but does have a name and carries out a message)
    If all there is is what's happening, these meetings needn't be held.

    Tony appears but there's nothing more to find than a mere name and/or a mere appearance.
    Appearance and its emptiness are at the same time.
    Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. As said by the Buddha.
    No nihilism and no materialism. No nothing and no everything, but both. It's a subtle subject though.
    Emptiness is just a word used for It is as it is or we can say Reality-as-i-is. Nothing more nothing less.
    All this seeking with words is just trying to find an answer when there's no answer to find, nothing new to grasp on.

      Yes, but "nobody" still has to eat, pay rent, etc! Maybe you would deny nobody a little comfort, dare I say even luxury, or spare cash to do something nice for family or society? Samsara and Nirvana are not different things or worlds - just different ways of viewing everything. The material and spiritual worlds co-exist, in other words. Whether what he does is good or bad depends on his motivation, his results, his behaviour - not on having to hire venues and pay taxes.
