1. The first fish Curry is called Nga Atoiba(Fish Stew)
2. The big chick of fish is another dish made with deep fried fish in light gravy (Nga Matum Thongba)
3.The Dal like dish is called Ooti(Pease stew)
4. The Chutney is Mustard and Chilly sauce.
5. The baby shrimps also Classic called Khajing fried with Chives.
6. The spicy salad is called Singjoo.. Vegetables with dry fish
and some. Ghost Chilli(Umorok)
7. The dark and browny item is fish Gizzard with vegetables
(Ngarinkha Ngouba)

3:19 with the shrimps that is 'kangou' means fried with oil
3:39 that is 'nga ataoba' nga means fish in Manipuri and that is a fried fish being cooked again

30+ years ago I had banana leaf curry in Thailand, only it was on a dirt floor on mats, and the leaves werenât trimmed on top of plates. Not quite as many dishes, but more food. A memorable meal for sure!

That's so costly. $20 in indian currency will be around Rs.1150 and.. some people here work for a month on a salary of Rs 3000..Those working in private sector in such hotels will not be earn more than that..

1 bhk house rent in metro cities here is between 15k/20k which in your currency will be around 300 dollars. But in smaller towns and cities it will be just around 90/80 dollars in your currency.

If you are earning a salary of Rs 50000 a monthly which will be 900 dollars approximate in your money .. thats a good salary here and you can live comfortable life..

I dont know how I land up on this video but this is the restaurant where I usually go with my family when we visit Imphal and Imphal is like 50 kms from my home. I so miss the food esp now that im stuck somewhere far from home due to this Covid pandemic. I hope I get to go back home soon and enjoy that thali again.

Man this reminds me of visiting a kumpong in Indonesia, where they had some sort of fish and rise curry thing in a bananna leaf that they char grilled in the coals of an open fire. One of the best bloody things I've tasted.
The concept of thali in India is that it is unlimited- you can order more of what you like. Almost each state in India has a local version of thali. It can start as low as 1$ and go up to 70$ in a 7 star hotel

Can you visit a town called Kakching? Itâs like the 2nd Imphal will lesser people and more scenic beauty but still the market hub of all the towns farther from Imphal. Mr Bald the strange blacky thing that you ate is called Ngarinkha. It is deep fried mixture of fish's bony stuffs with potatoes. And the hot stuff is called Singju. It is a mixture of cabbages, Vegetables leaves, beans, besan,etc with a lot of hot chilli spices....i love watching you eat our foods. Thanks Mr. Bald!!!

Yeah, you get fish "with scales" in N-E India, never went to Manipur but the same was the case in Assam, the texture looks the same.
Fun fact; One of the strongest chillis is in the world, "Bhut Jholakia" is from N-E India. But, most of the vegetarian food in N-E (in my experience) is not spicy.
