      Why spend $16.00 when you can buy materials from scratch for $20.00 then a few thousand for a metal shop in your garage.

    I loved the demonstration.
    I learned a few things like the nut at the end of the spring traveling up and down the threaded rod as the door moves. Brilliant.
    A few scraps was all you needed to make a door control, no trip to the store, plus the knowledge.

    I stopped the video as soon as I saw the quick release clamps holding down the bench clamp. Most clever thing I've seen in years. You should also try welding without helmet and gloves, oh and while you're there welding away. Stand inside a bucket full of water, I hear it helps with a good quality weld! 😎

    Great idea, I need one for every door in my house. One thought, the piece that attaches to the door should be notched so that you can release the rod if you need to keep the door held open maybe notch the bottom hole of the piece attached to the door frame so you can loosen and swivel. I don't know just a thought.

    Model price and where available..Tks.in advance.

    • @antalnegaspar6246
      @antalnegaspar6246 Před rokem

      The welding machine is a simple MIG welder, or so-called CO welder. It uses a relatively thin welding wire and CO2 gas to protect the weld bead when hot. These machines are being used for repairing car bodies, also for welding thicker materials. If someone uses Argon for shielding gas instead of carbon dioxide, the process won't throw sparks around and stainless steels van be welded with it, however the weld bead will be somewhat more brittle. With Corgon gas (Argon+Carbon dioxide mixed), some of the compromises can be avoided. Welding wires are cheap, shielding gases are cheap too, but their canisters can cost almost the same as the machine. Welding current can be set to 1-200 Ampers, voltage can be set as low as 12 Volts, up to 60-70 Volts. Usually these machines can weld with sticks too. They can be AC and/or DC welders, but DC is more common. Their price varies from a hundred bucks to several thousands, of course there's no free lunch, you'll get more for more money. Used machines can cost less, but you have to pay more attention what you buy.
