The secret use for a spring is to act as a spring. 🤯💥
What you just made can be purchased off the shelf in a much simpler form.
Why spend $16.00 when you can buy materials from scratch for $20.00 then a few thousand for a metal shop in your garage.
I loved the demonstration.
I learned a few things like the nut at the end of the spring traveling up and down the threaded rod as the door moves. Brilliant.
A few scraps was all you needed to make a door control, no trip to the store, plus the knowledge.
Oh my! That is a great invention, thank you Mr Engineer.
Yup THANKS for sharing very good idea for a door closer. I have all those parts in my metal junk box too.
That reminds me.... Springs just around the corner!!
Merci 🙏.
Love the small piece hold down
Well done bro 👍!!!!!!!!
Beautiful
Bravo ottima idea👍👍👍!!!
Muy buena idea amigo 👌
WOW excelente 👍
I stopped the video as soon as I saw the quick release clamps holding down the bench clamp. Most clever thing I've seen in years. You should also try welding without helmet and gloves, oh and while you're there welding away. Stand inside a bucket full of water, I hear it helps with a good quality weld! 😎
That was amazing
Muito bom 👍 parabéns ( Brasil
Very very nice work 👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic,God bless you.
Love the tool you used to hold down your work piece on the drill press.

I knew you were a genius in the first minute,,, when you used a bandsaw to cut the hooks on a spring.
Yes genius work and it was a portable bandsaw fitted with the safety droponfloor function.

Good job
Hello, every good. Perfect.

Genius
Which is that cutting tools you are using?
Depends on how you look at it
For goodness sake, JUST BUY ONE!
I may be wrong but I didn't think you could weld spring steel. For as the spring. I use them for all kinds of stuff. Never throw them away.
Spring steel is the best quality steel you can get.
However is shagged the hardening and tempering, may be extremely weak or brittle and break.
Donde se puede conseguir esas soldadoras
great hack bro
Great idea, I need one for every door in my house. One thought, the piece that attaches to the door should be notched so that you can release the rod if you need to keep the door held open maybe notch the bottom hole of the piece attached to the door frame so you can loosen and swivel. I don't know just a thought.
Yeah our outside doors have those with a shock absorber to let the door close easy and not slam shut! Duh!😎✌
I assume you already own a drillpress, drill press, and bandsaw and if you own those you also have a shop to keep them in! Must be nice being Rich!😎✌
@@robertmcwhinney4596 my dude.. you can get all that crap at harbor freight for like $200.. if you cant save up or something the problem is not the rich big guy. The rich dont buy tools.the rich pay guys that own tools to do the work.
Bety good👍👍
Mantap bossss👍👍👍👍🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Very neatly made
Pl.aldo tell us Abt the welding machine which weld so cleanly
Pl.tell details of make
Model price and where available..Tks.in advance.
The welding machine is a simple MIG welder, or so-called CO welder. It uses a relatively thin welding wire and CO2 gas to protect the weld bead when hot. These machines are being used for repairing car bodies, also for welding thicker materials. If someone uses Argon for shielding gas instead of carbon dioxide, the process won't throw sparks around and stainless steels van be welded with it, however the weld bead will be somewhat more brittle. With Corgon gas (Argon+Carbon dioxide mixed), some of the compromises can be avoided. Welding wires are cheap, shielding gases are cheap too, but their canisters can cost almost the same as the machine. Welding current can be set to 1-200 Ampers, voltage can be set as low as 12 Volts, up to 60-70 Volts. Usually these machines can weld with sticks too. They can be AC and/or DC welders, but DC is more common. Their price varies from a hundred bucks to several thousands, of course there's no free lunch, you'll get more for more money. Used machines can cost less, but you have to pay more attention what you buy.
Great...what did those tools cost?
👏🏻
great ideas but one needs the correct tools
Please, use cutting oil when drilling. Your bits will thank you.
Wow that mobile bandsaw was incredible! (Not sold in the U.K.) - I bet those replacement blade cost a fortune!
You can buy those bandsaws everywhere in the UK. We have a Milwaukee one.
Man your good. Love your vids.
* "Man, you're good."
👍👍
Emeğine yüreğine sağlık süper 💯

Creo que ya venden Bisagras bro!!
Nice video, thanks for sharing, like it :)
why buy something we can make ourselves? it's much more fun
Because there are a lot of things we can make ourselves but better minds than ours have made it easier and FASTER to go and purchase them but if YOU have nothing better to do with YOUR time great! Go for it! Oh you might want to purchase a bandsaw and drill press while YOUR at it! $1000 dollars should cover it!😎✌
Qt
Con esa maquinaria cualquiera lo hace.
... the door is closed - beautyfull.
Haha....cool stuff. 😉
I guessed it was a door closer. I’m guessing it took about three hours to make at let’s (say) a domestic time/value rate of $30 an hour plus $10 dollars materials so a round hundred bucks, I think they normally sell for about ten bucks in a hardware store🤔?
Keren Patent
One eye bolt, six feet of starter cord, 2 small pulleys and a one/two litre empty pop bottle (fill to required pull power)
👍
👍🏼👍🏼
IN MY COUNTRY , IT IS AVAILABLE IN OPEN MARKET , READY-MADE + MUCH BETTER QUALITY.
What is that welding thing?
Why is the title not 'making of a door returning spring'
How much is a door returning spring?
18 € with adjustable spring, so this video is either part of the feller's occupational therapy or a waste of time ...
No one would watch!
God bless

Had one of these type of closers on my gate nearly 40 years ago, nothing new about it.

I think this is just a man showing off his expensive tools. A guy with way too much time on his hands.
Where did you get the pen which drills holes an saws for ya?
I don't need to know where you got the sweater 😂
Well, that was an anticlimax. You didn't know springs worked in torsion? You need to get out more.
Secret ? I mean nice work but click bait sucks.
or you can just buy a small spring door closer for about five bucks
I don't know what kind of secret sealer/glue he's found but I've NEVER encountered any silicone/acrylic/butyl/urethane/polysulfide/latex sealer that will adhere to the ind of polyethylene that his jug lid is made of!!
Ct1 will bond anything
