  • The Honda Accord is all new for 2023, featuring a completely redesigned exterior and interior, new hybrid engines, and new technology. A sophisticated new exterior gives way to Honda's new interior design language that first debuted in the Civic, which features a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and 10-inch digital gauge cluster. New drivetrains include two-motor hybrid electric systems.
    Accord is a 5-passenger midsize car that is only offered as a 4-door sedan. Competitors include the Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, Mazda 6, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry. A hybrid variant is also available.
    Six trims are offered: LX, EX, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring. Two engines are available: A turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that produces 192 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter twin-motor hybrid that produces 204 horsepower. Both engines mate to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Pricing ranges from $28,000 to $40,000.

    I have this exact trim! Sport And Sport-L are great trims, but lack of Rear A/C, parking sensors, USB-C charging ports in the back, heated side view mirrors, and auto-dimming rear view mirrors were a problem. Touring was the one I was interested in, but the $5K didn't justify the extras, and the EX-L gets better gas mileage due to the smaller wheels and rims.

      @Cresof Před 10 měsíci +2

      Still enjoying the car? Also what's your average MPG's for this trim looking like? I'm trying to decide between the EX-L and the touring, and I think I agree that the $5k difference might be a deal breaker. Maybe the only other thing I would upgrade for is the upgraded sound system

    I have and EX-L and really love it. It gets the promised 50 mpg the summer months. Cold weather. will lower mpg to around 40-42, or even lower on really cold days in Ohio. I think it's the best of the Accord hybrids since the Touring is overpriced.

    As a longtime hybrid owner , 1 Civic and three Accords, MPG is still better on the highway than the city. it's a myth that you will get better mileage with primarily city driving. If you push it hard over 70 mph, you'll see mpg drop and may experience much lower numbers, but using gentle acceleration and lots of coasting when approaching a stop is the best way to boost mpg.

    I have owned Hondas since my first Accord in 1997. In my opinion, the retain their value and if you take care of them, they run forever. I have owned the 96,97,and the 2013. My all time favorite purchase was the 2013. Honda went all out in the re-design with this model. Fast forward to the 2018 with the next re-design and I bought the show room model it was so beautiful. The 2023 Sport Hybrid is my latest. I still own the 2018 Sport as well and both models are great cars. My 2018 doesn’t get the best gas mileage, but my 2023 makes up for that. For in town and overall commuting I go with my 2023. Vehicle settings are updated nicely with the ‘23. The ‘18 body style and stance are for flossing. My only gripe is with the 2018 the low profile rims and 19” tires make it an expensive cost when having to replace the wheels. Small price to pay for such dependable vehicles. I will always love a Honda.

    Nice review! I have started looking into the specs on the 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and the EX-L seems to be a good choice with most options and not the price of the Touring. I started out looking at the 2024 Honda Hybrid CR-V's, but the price is alarming and the models have changed. I like the Accord EX-L Hybrid from what I've seen so far. I had a 2019 Honda CR-V Touring and my Civic is Touring model as well. Honda is jacking the prices up a great deal which is a shame for potential buyers.

    We are looking at the EX-L Hybrid. There's a couple of questions I have that you didn't cover. (Note: we use Google Pixel phones.)
    1. What company created the map app? Is it the Google Maps app or something else?
    2. What what do I miss because it doesn't have "Google Built-In"?
    3. What features does "Alexa Built-In" add? (I'm not crazy about Alexa.)
    4. What does "Android Auto Compatibility" add?
    Thanks for a great review.

      *QUESTION 4.* It lets me connect my Pixel (Android OS) and use the apps on my phone by using the the touch-screen as well as my voice and the other buttons on the steering wheel.
      Here's a video about it: czcams.com/video/s0SiaLN5upM/video.html

    • @VehicleVisionary
      @VehicleVisionary  Před 11 měsíci

      1. The “maps” is whatever map application you pick that is installed on your phone. Primarily Google maps but can use Waze or Apple Maps.
      2. Google built in just allows you to use the google assistant “hey google…(insert command here) without having an android or needing your phone.
      3. Alexa built in adds Alexa capabilities which are similar to google assistant but allows for commands such as “Alexa, open my garage door” assuming you have those features active
      4. Android Auto is an app that essentially connects your phone to your touch screen and allows you to access some of your most used apps (maps, music, calls, texts, audiobooks etc) on your touch screen.

    • @michaelpoquette3182
      @michaelpoquette3182 Před 10 měsíci

      I just watched a video which you can probably see here that shows a Touring with only ONE map pocket. I have 2022 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hatch(top of the line) and it has only ONE map pocket on back of passenger seat. I believe that is pretty typical now and I don't see the big deal.
      I have wireless phone charging on my Civic and don't use it anymore. I just have a cord connected and charge it that way. It seems to charge MUCH faster. The Qi charger is a low voltage charge.

    I still drive my 2001 dodge neon but I have been looking at this trim, but I have some questions that I can't find the answers anywhere. Besides no fog lights why did Honda is not including a spare tire?
    Also is my insurance rate going to be higher due to the hybrid motor? And how long will the hybrid motor last and how much will a cost to fix/replace? And last is there a tax/fee from the state due to not buying as much gasoline?
    Thank you so much to whoever can answer this question.

    • @VehicleVisionary
      @VehicleVisionary  Před 11 měsíci

      No spare tire due to lack of space for one but I believe there are kits you can buy to add a spare tire.
      As for insurance, call your insurance agent and ask them that question. They should be able to tell you if your rates will be higher.
      The battery should last between three and five years. I am not sure of the cost but hybrid batteries typically run between $2000 to $8000 to replace.
      I am not sure on the tax fee question but my guess would be no to that question.
