After 46 games, to write this team off is a tad premature… much like many of the naysayer’s ejaculations. The Rockies swept the World Champions last week, as well. Two things we need to get better at…pitching performance and, when they do occur, backing up good performances by our starters.

Manny Machado and Xander Bogaerts have 9.75 years left on their combined 11 year 635M dollar contacts with most of Manny's contract backloaded. They have combined .598 OPS this year while about to be 32 years old. The real question is did they invest in the wrong "superstars" because if they don't produce nothing is happening.
Also Tatis has a Sub .800 OPS since his 2 surgeries and PED suspension, Musgrove is having injury problems again, and they just got swept by the Rockies. This team might be going down a bad path.

They all have these guys locked up for 4+ years.(Suarez 2 player options in 26/27).
