This prayer does really help. I felt sad for some time becouse of some thoughs that really stressed me out. My inner peace felt ruined. After I said this prayer LORD JESUS CHRIST, SON OF GOD, HAVE MERCY ON ME, A SINNER. All those thoughs went away from me.
This prayer is my late evening devotion before bedtime. It gives me a sense of calm and peace.

True, the more I pray, the more I am attacked, nightmares, bad thoughts, bad images in my mind, it gets harder and harder. I prayed three days in a row and I had nightmares every single night!

@@catalinul1461 Father Spyridon has a nice podcast about the Jesus prayer. It helps me clear my mind when demons are about. "Use your fingers, say it five or ten times." Hope this helps. Andrew Wommack also has good teachings on prayer. 🙏
@@catalinul1461 if I was not being attacked then I would be worried. If you are making progress in the spiritual life then these attacks are to be expected.

Holy Paisios (a Greek Orthodox Saint) was once asked, what one can do against disturbing thoughts, while high up in the sky an airplane was passing. Elder Paisios looked up and said - Do you see this airplane? It is not in my power if it will pass over me or not, but it is up to me if I build a landing-strip or not !!
The most awful form of thought is obsession. I know the thoughts aren't mine, but horrifying things come to mind and stick for days: faces, actions, a place of complete blackness, and dread. Other stuff happens too, but it's best that I do not discuss anymore about what it is.

The best prayer is Lord have mercy on me. Say it constant 24 hr a day, even when you go to sleep th evil one and servants of evil hate those words it burns them.

Dear brother in Christ. Talk to the Mother of God and ask her to help you to keep yourself pure as you wait for a good wife, also asking our Mother to intercede with Christ our God that He prepare a wife for you and then wait. All good things happen in God’s time.

Evan Rivet - Orthodox Christianity brought the world the New Testament and catholic Christianity (that is, Apostolic & not Gnostic, and including both the Church Militant - those alive on Earth - and Church Triumphant - the victorious Saints interceding for us & worshipping with us - the Whole Church from Greek, Katholikos: Kata ("according to") + Holos ("the whole/complete")), it is for everyone. As an ex-Protestant, I can tell you, it is the greatest joy on Earth, finding and joining oneself to the Christ-founded Ancient Faith, His Spirit-filled Body. It to me several years to recover from the errors of my upbringing/culture and deprogram my mind from my Reformed education (graduated from a Reformed university, where I studied New Testament theology and Art/Art History, as well as linguistics), being freed from the heresies and theological novelties that have long plagued the West, Latin & Protestant alike. Remember, "the Church is the ground and pillar of Truth", not personal interpretation of Her sacred writings, which are only part of the Truth in Her Treasury (see II Thessalonians 2:15, 3:6, I Cor. 11:2-34, John 6:48-58, too). The Lord founded the Church, "upon the Apostles and Prophets, Christ himself chief cornerstone," (Eph. 2:20), and it was those men who - later - gave us the NT Scriptures, which came after the foundation of the Apostolic Episcopacy (Matt. 16:18, 18:18, Acts 1:20) and the institution of the Liturgy/Eucharistic Worship (see Acts 2:42, & Heb. 8:6 in original Greek: most English translations have, inexplicably, substituted the word, "ministry" for Liturgy/Λειτουργίας, but that word would be "diaconia" in Greek, not "liturgia/s"), not before. Truly (and this I say from experience), the Orthodox Church is the Pearl of Great Price. The road home may be challenging (even dangerous), but absolutely worth the journey! As a past sufferer of ocd, 'Pure-O' can be torture for the person feeling like they are totally alone in this. If you suffer from intrusive thoughts, know that you are NOT your thoughts. 1000's of thoughts come & go to & through our minds daily(do you consciously think them all? of course not.); If you're stressed or experiencing prolonged anxiety and these thoughts occur, let them flow by you like a shallow river, they can't hurt you in the least. Let it all go...in time, they will leave you. Busy yourself with life, with others, etc. & you'll find those thoughts less and less too. Also a simple thing to know: take away the stress (it's build-up within you), & in turn you'll be having fewer & fewer of such thoughts until at last, gone. It takes work to let things go...be kind to yourself & relax. You are not alone by any means.
Life happens...its not always good by any means as you know.
God however, is Good...always & forever, & gives us each other to share experience, knowledge & above all...love.

It laches on to what is dearest in our life and makes our lifes misereable. I have been getting hit fiercely by the devils minions. I was glad to see this video today. Torment is a real thing. People (Christians) need to be taught how to deal with this, how to survive demonic attacks.

I struggle with this immensely as well. Robs me of my inner piece. It’s brutal. However, God is allowing these thoughts for a reason. We must focus on him and not give up.

@@icxcnika2037 Look into and think of something else. Avoid places and chances where you could get tempted. Pray and find something else to enjoy in. Some hoby. Something that will preoccupy your mind. God bless!

I struggle with Autism, and recently discovered i struggle with OCD. This video confirmed that I am on the right path in my treatment, and that the therapy that is prescribed to people with OCD is in line with what the Bible teaches. Thank you for posting this video.

Thank you for this message. In recent years I have experienced what some call hypnogogic hallucinations or sleep paralysis. Initially it was quite terrifying but after reading something on this topic I began to say the name of Jesus and to also pray the Jesus prayer. I remember the first time I did this, I said to the demon "but I am a follower of Jesus" and within a second it vanished. These episodes have become rarer now, thank God, but if ever I experience anything I will immediately say the Jesus prayer or the Lord's prayer and all is good again.

I'm pretty sure that persistent anxious thoughts are a symptom of a more serious problem. I think about it as a sicknesses of the soul. The way to fix that is by learning why it's happening. and Sometimes you will infact have to confront those demons.

The demons are real, Father. In two days, I have prayed the Jesus Prayer in front of two family members. Both times my sanity was questioned, and was eventually screamed at to ‘shut up!’
Matthew 6:6
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
It is good to pray openly, to let sound come out of our mouth, we can do this in secret in our room or in Church, yet when we feel the need to pray the Jesus Prayer when we are in public or are surrounded by people, it's good to say the Jesus Prayer in ourselves. The monks say the Jesus Prayer all the time, we just don't hear it. They say it in themselves continuously. Saying the Jesus prayer aloud to protect yourself from others may make the others feel like they are doing something wrong to you, they will feel attacked. We should be very careful not to lead others into temptation of getting bad thoughts and that is why doing things in secret is the best way to go as that wont lead to others judging you and you being judged. God is in secret and hears our thoughts.

This video was greatly needed this was the answer to my prayer I needed to see this… however the ending catches me off guard and scares me a bit…

Merry christmas father and thank you so much I struggle a lot with unwanted and bad thoughts that rob sometime my inner peace and all of them are always to doubt the love amd the mercy of God but that helped me very much to throw away these unwanted thoughts and i had spended a lot of time in dealing with these thoughts and very often with no good result but now in the jesus prayer i can face it and vanquish it with no anxiety or fear .
An additional tool is to avoid thinking about thinking about them. In other words reject even those concerns about the thoughts. God bless you Michel.

I have awful unwanted thoughts about how unloveable I am and the thoughts get really dark, but now that I call on Jesus and think the Jesus Prayer as often as possible and the bad unwanted thoughts are completely gone as long as I keep His name in my mind and heart.

Father, it's the dreams brought on by medication that are the worst for me. These are sleep tablets that bring crushing somnolence, and when combined with physical discomfort can conjure the most hellish of thoughts. Like you're in Hell, torture, the Devil, knives, crushing, and I'm screaming out for Jesus and the Blood of Christ, yet it just carries on until I wake to a brand new day of peace, but my, when you're in this stuff you don't know you're gonna wake up. No, it's just eternal hell. Work that one out. Yet it's only the medication that causes this. No meds, no nasty hellish dreams.
I ask Jesus to give you His powerful peace to release you from ALL pain,discomfort and blanket of His peace to cover you all through your sleep, in Jesus Mighty Son of God Name!!🕊💖🌈
i get a lot of evil thoughts like what if someone in my family dies or what if i go somewhere and something happens to me and i never make it back home. a couple of days ago i got so tired of these horrible thoughts that i asked God to take them away from my mind and now here i am literally watching this video because my laptop was glitching and clicked on it to show me that God wants to answer my prayer. i dont want to say it clicked by mistake because this is no mistake God brought me to this video God Bless Everyone

Just happened to read Divine Mercy Diary entry 103. “Suddenly I saw the Lord interiorly,and He said to me, ‘FEAR NOT, My daughter; I am with you.’ In that single moment, all the darkness and torments vanished, my senses were inundated with unspeakable joy,[and] The faculties of my soul filled with light. “
This says what I know. Agree pray, summon God not feed the ungodly who are messing with your thinking they create confusion,disbelief...all negative and detrimental. Seek God in all things. Amen 🙏

The best text on this issue by far is The Teachings of Silvanus. Very powerful and instructive, I advise everyone to read it. The best way to put evil thought to flight is to do exactly what they don't want you to do. Immediately their power is shattered like a broken glass.
i cant recommend this writing because it starts with the opposite of matthew 18:3 "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." in the first 2 paragraphs i found nasty anchorpoints.
i can recommend following father spyridon, because prayer works in this regards and will guard all the gates. depending on the weight of the problem, from which these unwanted thoughts appear, on might have to pray one time or even a thousand times. i believe that increasing the quality and quantity of prayer is the good solution.
