I hate removing the control housing. Stupid tedious procedures for everything. This guy makes it look easy. Have to apply air pressure to a couple ports to move the shift forks in the correct position to allow the control housing to lift off. And most of the time it still resists coming out, making it frustrating to remove. Always worried it will be damaged. And it's even worse going back together. Wish volvo would dump these crap transmissions. Seldom see them live past 500k

@@valeriumoscalu7580 I think you nerd to make such library and sale like chilton car prepare manual.
With video conference and hangouts you can make online help teach how to. Prepare I shift.
      Are you in Oregon ?
      Many Russian here..
I am in manufacturing. Interesting to get some part that brake and make after market part for I shift.

I heard these transmissions are so expensive to work on that most dealers just recommend installing a rebuilt on and core the other.
    Is that true ?

Very easy to remove in most cases. With the truck 8" off the ground, on solid ground and the right tools, I can have one pulled in 3-5 hours depending on the setup. Wet kits make it much worse.

I work on these everyday, they are incredibly expensive. This an F model, due to the difference of the covers. That big battery looking thing on top is 2300 by its self. I’ve torn down maybe 60 ato’s in my few months of work, and like 30 DT12’s, currently learning the Endurances now, or the EEO. The ato reman is typically around 10 grand to 12 grand depending on what needs a fix. A new one is around 20-30gs.
