    whoaaa I CANT BELIEVE YOU STUDIED IN TWO WEEKS!!! I took a standardized test, GRE, and I prepped for a week. I guess I knew that my own abilities / how much I could cram. @@liluzidash thank you :) yes i did use medify, which was basically all my revision. • @Charlie-ct8jk
    @Charlie-ct8jk Před 2 lety +25

    I’ve just done my UCAT and got band 1 and 2670 ( VR 650,DM 670,QR 740 and AR 610) in about 2 weeks of revision and although it’s not a 9th percentile score I’m so happy since I got that even despite my dyslexia and processing issues which makes reading and responding to the question quickly quite difficult. All I want to say is no matter what everyone should be proud of themselves getting this far and to believe in yourself 💗
    EDIT: hey guys I just wanted to update since I’ve finally come to the end of my journey but I got 4/4 med school offers for HYMS (York campus), Leicester, Notts and Liverpool! I’ve firmed york and insure Leicester. Your UCAT doesn’t always define you so I’d say if you have a decent one just focus on smashing your interviews

      Was it really just 2 weeks, don’t be giving me false hope🥲 I’ve had so much going on recently and my revision has taken a backseat… Feeling so discouraged. 14 days to go, how on earth did you manage that score? Well done you.

    • @Charlie-ct8jk
      @Charlie-ct8jk Před 2 lety +5

      @@rayna3244 hey, it really was as I’ve had work experience, course work to do and a summer school so I kind of lost track of time. I’ve just checked my medify (which I REALLY recommend getting btw) and I did 1986 practice questions and then 13 sub set mocks and 1 full mock. Honestly QR is really easy just learn to use the shortcuts on the computer for the calculator, VR is hard for timing especially with my dyslexia but you don’t need as many questions right to get the marks imo. DM the hardest bit is the syllogisms as it’s unlike previous maths skills and I’d say you should use UCAT resources for this or medify mocks as the practice ones are slightly easier than in the actual UCAT. AR is the bit I struggles on most but use SCANS and watch yt videos of other and it’ll make sense. As for sjt, there’s general rules and your own judgement will also help but medify have videos on it aswell. E.g any cheating is always very inappropriate and factors such as “the materials didn’t cover what was on the exam or this person usually has a good reputation” don’t matter as lying is the biggest thing wrong you can do or exposing patient safety. Sorry it’s abit long but it’s totally possible and I believe in you

    heyyy I heard from multiple people that the SJT questions on medify are a bit different from the ones on the actual exam. So was this the case for you? And would you recommend using the actual UCAT website?

    • @LifeofLeyna

    Hey! I have 11 days left and haven't done any mini/full mocks, really struggling with the timing. How many mini mocks did you do in one day? also did you do mini mocks for all sections per day or just one section? :)

      Hiya, not to worry it will be okay!! I can't remember how many I did but I did 4-6 hours a day and I did one section per day xx

      Hi, I don’t think you need to sit the UCAT. There is options for people who already have a degree to become a doctor or dentist. It is usually a year or two shorter than the 5 year BDS. Have a look on UCAS it’s all on there. Good luck

    • @LifeofLeyna
      @LifeofLeyna  Před 3 lety +1

      Hiya, check out my VR tips video (I talk about a keyword approach)... and for timing in general, i would recommend skipping and flagging questions that are too hard or too long instead of wasting time on them - you can come back to flagged questions if there's time at the end of each section :)
