Islet Online actually looks pretty cool, seems they aren't super aggressive with their shop either. Might give it a try sometime soon.
yeah makes me want to play lego RPG fortnite
I don't know if I'm sick, but Playing an mmo that nobody else is playing sounds fun to me.
Introverts be introverting.
LoTRO? I actually enjoy that game solo
@@mechwarrior13 Me too.
@@mechwarrior13 Game is far from dead.
@@mechwarrior13 LOTRO has strong community what are you talking about ?
Back in 2008-2012 I played a lot of Regnum. The Realm vs. Realm in the central Warzone was epic. Later Gamigo added invading the other realms. It was honestly fairly hard to do and they did their best to balance out the realms. After that the game went downhill and monetized way too much. But for a long time that was my go-to MMO. Loved it!
glad you found your calling and seeing the success and growth- grrom from osrs
Hey grrom! Thanks man i appreciate it :)
as a regnum player for 17 years
i can tell you the game is not dead, the developers are still active (and just expanded their team). right now the 17th anniversary event is live!
with an active roadmap and many updates to come in the future!
also a sidenote for 11:54 chicapro was not a high level player flexing in the newbie area, that balloon you see takes you to the warzone. using it backwards brings you to the newbie area which opens up commerce for players which isnt available in the warzone. theres also an endgame daily quest involving the newbie zone xD so we are usually just chilling in the newbie zone for commercial reasons :D
also squid island is not THE most dynamic player driven battlefield, that crown goes to the actual warzone!
So with the saying a game is dead does not imply it's actually dead, generally it means the player base is lacking or not as high as it used to be. happens a lot with underground MMOS or ones that a majority of the player base stopped playing after a long time.
@@zackhartle8629 i would consider 'dead' games, games where the developers abandoned the game
How many players are there?
@@michaelflores9220 sadly theres no way to check these stats because most players do not play through steam xD
Regnum looks like it reuses quite a few assets from another MMO called Cabal Online. Particularly the UI.
Regnum actually doesn't look too bad. i would have played this 7 years ago
Would you really? Legion was already released o.o Ragnum looked like garbage
I wonder how many of those "players" were just NPCs made to look like player to make the game feel like people are around
Same & if they are real players I wonder what fuels their desire to play a game (MMO) knowing you're the only 1 online. Just standing in a starting area awaiting a new friend. Crazy.
the fucking "A Friend" joke got me dying XD
Perpetuum is as far as I remember sort of an EvE online clone, with meks intead of ships.
Been playing Islet Online for about 4 years on and off now. Amazing game, tons of fun! Especially when you get your flying mount and build your home, it's very addictive. Would recommend to everyone. The English-speaking community is very small, but it's still a great game and everyone is very polite anf friendly.
😅 consider me IN! Downloading nowww
Out of all the MMOs displayed the one you liked the most was the one i disliked the (second) most from a viewer watching gameplay perspective :P I agree with the childish cartoon characters thing but the final MMO had the same effect on me. Looking forward to the deep dive on it though, love this content!! keep at it
Love you crow
I still remember my first MMORPG: Sherwood Dungeon back in 2007. followed by Crystal Saga in 2011 and warcraft from there on.
For Islet when you started training your jumping skill my first thought was "find a low ceiling to bonk your head off so you don't jump as high every time." Am I broken? Or is this normal?
It's actually smart. fwiw, this is how I power-level jumping in Daggerfall - doorframes are just a bit taller than your character, so you essentially jump very fast
liked and subbed! Your content is engaging as well as entertaining. The important aspect of content is all about storytelling which I enjoy spending every minute watching the video keep it up! :D
Great vid I played this back in the day didn't know it was on steam.
Never heard of Islet, but I'm surprised you didn't mention Trove at all, which leads me to believe you might not be aware of it. It's certainly got various differences than islet, but in terms of a "Minecraft MMO" it's the one I always think of, and unless things have changed since I last looked into it, there's still quite a few people playing.
I'll always be happy to bring Trove up because early on you could actually create and submit voxel items/styles and submit them and one of the permanent hairstyles in the game is one I made.
Rysum was great back in the day but remember doing alot of online research before you tube to understand what I was doing.
amazing dedication and information. you sir, get an A+
I remmeber reading about ryzom waaaaay back, didnt think it would even still be online lol
Gun of Icarus. It's a very cool and underrated airship 3D combat game. I played it recently and there were like 5 people online, which is a shame.
I'm fairly old. When WoW first came out I was intrigued. But I wasn't buy a new gaming pc/pay a monthly subscription intrigued. I had never played an mmo before and the closest I had gotten was watching my buddy play muds when I was a teenager. I searched the internet for mmos and non of them worked on my pc or cost a subscription I wasnt willing to pay. All except Regnum which was all the game was called at the time, 'Champions of' came later at some point I dunno, I never stuck around that long. Long intro to a short story; when I first logged onto regnum the whole concept was so new to me that I just sat there ontop of this starting zone icehill trying ot read all the help guide. There was this dude standing there. Another player like me, the first online real person I had ever laid eyes on in an mmorpg. He turns to me and says 'hi. are you lost?' and I said 'Hi. Ya kinda I guess. I've never done this before' So he says 'I'll show you where to go for 1 gold'. I look in my inventory and sure enough the game had started me with 1 gold. I give it to him thinking this must be some normal sort of transaction in these mmorpg things. He takes it and says 'follow me'. I follow him and we run for 25 sec...to the next hill where there was an npc. 'You go here. Good luck'
It took me 5 min to get ripped off in my 1st mmorpg ;p
You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite CZcamsrs brotha. Always a delight to see you posted a new video. Started playing LOTRO with my twin brother due to your vid. Thanks and keep it up!
Speaking on getting lvl up on random things i like when using skills lvls them up
It just makes sense that using a skill more makes it advance further like any other skill in life the more u do it the better u get at it
Unfortunately not many mmos or games in general use this system
Which is a shame
You may not see this but i would absolitely love to see you explore FF 11. I hear some amazing things but i genuinely enjoy your perspective and would love a vid on it
I know baldur gates exist but i cant help but to want more DnD games with online guild system to chill with fellow nerd friends at a saturday night.
I love this series, I played many MMOs after the rush UO gave me back in the day, even did EQ's ps2 game. Everything from Runescape to EVE, 2Moons, 9dragons, Flyff, Rose Online, Maplestory an many more. Thanks Waydot.
2Moons, that game was awesome.
ah FLYFF, that name takes me WAY back, lvl 15 sword was epic with the card upgrades :)
I was mostly RM though I dabbled in knight
Sleep Paralysis demon got me xD Greetings from Argentina here! Didn't have the chance to properly play Regnum, but indeed heard about it; I was most likely busy playing Cabal Online, Granado Espada and L2 :D
The textures glitching on regnum could be DX12 related, if you try it again if possible set to DX11. Same issue appears in WoW as well periodically.
I remember Regnum! I played back in college when I was penny pinching and avoiding all sub fees.
edda was a popular game when it was released in 2010 for the first time and it had great realm vs realm wars still miss the game !
great video saw many games i never heard but i gotta ask sorry if i offended you, if you don't like chibi like anime art/model does that mean you don't like older zelda game with same artstyle just curious
I remember Ryzom, had such huge hopes for it but I just couldn’t get into it. Stuck to the other mmos of the time.
I'd like to see you play Shaiya, if it's still around. I had lots of fun there as my second MMORPG long ago.
Pretty sure theres a private server for chronicles of spellborn still around. That ones well worth a look.
amazing idea for a video. in my opinion what you're documenting is deeper than video games. We have all been sucked into this vacuum on the supposed world wide web. with new tech it seems our window of discovery is dwindle to a few mere apps and in this case MMOs. You literally just going to page 4 is proof the internet does still exist. I would say that a vast majority of consumers are so invested in things they are told to like everything after page one on steam might as well be a blank page
Try Puzzle Pirates. Gameplay and puzzles are amazing.
Well, maaaaybe all those mmorpgs, but i am fairly certain most have on their minds Lineage 2 too. It is a popular game too, you know. :)
Perpetuum UI looks like some EVE Online shenanigans
I might try that last one out myself, I been wanting something like that in my life. Graphics could be better but that doesn’t bother me is the game play is good.
At least give the game a shot, its strangely addicting and really hit a lot of those feel good mmo receptors that i didnt assume it would just judging the game by its cover
Silkroad online and fly for fun are two games i I use to play in my teenage years
You should try out Palia.
Its an online persistent world and plays like that last game on your list here. It also has Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing vibes, but its online and has a very friendly and helpful community.
Its free on both Steam and on Nintendo Switch. :)
Palia was fun for a few hours played it on release. To bad it seems like it might not be around long
@@GygaxxGrows Despite the layoffs, development is still trucking along. A new feature update was just announced. I'm still hopeful for Palias future. It's only really if community abandons game it may topple.
Islet online looks so cute! You should try Silkroad Online!
Islet online reminds me of Maple Story 2 a bit. shame they didn't give that game more of a chance, it had some cool ideas in there
love this series.
Nice thumb, from which game it comes?
Great video. Thanks!
You should check out Requiem: Bloodymare
i've always wanted to try Wurm Online. but my PC wont run it. not sure why.
level up by jumping (insert Fry from Futurama meme) "Shut up and take my money!"
It surprises me how you didn't mention Ragnarok Online when referencing the anime style games.
I love your content 😂❤ keep up the good work i guess i’m your first Arabian fan
MFW Legends of Edda used the assets from Ragnarok Online XD
RIFT, BDO, WoW, FF14, SWTOR, runscape, age of conan, thats just those on top of my head
Would love to see you play Rose Online sometime. Thanks for making great content.
Already shut down, there are private servers but... Older version than the last official version of an already shutdown game :/
i would like to nominee you several old mmos to explore.. also regarding champions of regnum this warent servers of difficulites but factions, eachfaction have diffrent races
Regnum online has the best player vs player vs player in the entire mmo world, but you need to grind a lot to discover it. About tab to target, in a 100vs100vs100 enemies tab to target couldnt work at all
You should give Dofus a try if you want a unique old school twist on an mmorpg which isn't too popular and honestly underrated! You welcome
The im too stupid to play this game is fking hilarious 😂
Legends of Edda actually looks legitimately cool in art design. Not gonna say it's a good game but I do like the style. It's very Dark Cloud 2 and Radiata Stories.
homie really sees stylized graphics and can only think of nintendo, LOL
you should try lost relics one time
WHAT??? FIVE MINUTES AGO??? that's crazy
if you love sandbox liked mmorpgs then you should try wakfu and dofus.honestly i had both games played more than 5 years, and it was my first mmorpg in the past.
First mmo i ever played was City of Heros, on release lol
Sierras The Realm Online sadly died
I Player Champions of regnum so many hours IT was a really Good pvp game
Perpetuum is eve online with mechs.
Ssshhh, de mi Regnum no vas a estar hablando 🤣
Did you know that Rowan was in Avatar?
The title is already wrong when the first MMO (Ryzom) starts. 🤣 I played this one.
pirates of the burning sea! :D still has loyal players though
LUV U WAYDOTTT
What's wrong with predefinitions for races wtf?
I know of about 90% of these games because if Josh Strife Hayes.
When you realize most of those games could be successful Singleplayer RPGs, but they decided to throw it all in the trash lol
Regnum online was one of the games I played the most in my childhood, nowadays it is full of p2w elements because they want to keep making money, but my God how I liked the PVP of this game, the combat is really bad nowadays, maybe in its time when I was younger it was easier to make me feel dopamine when hitting enemies. But the fact of taking forts, castles and then trying to break the door to the enemy kingdom and steal the dragon eggs was great. It made you feel nationalistic in a game that you would never think you would achieve. I still played it with a lot of friends which made it more fun. 3/10
islet online is giving me big maplestory 2/ mabinogi vibes...
I would've been better never seeing those MMORPG
8: 25 About Regnum... it's nothing wrong with the game. It's just your PC being "too good" to load the textures.
You need to downgrade your DirectX to an older version that the game recognizes.
Try ragnarok online waydot
*laughs in has played everquest and everquest 2 since I was 3* I'm mentally unstable-
Islet online looks like it just did a rip from Nintendo's Mi characters you make to be your avatar...
i have 3 chars on max level on regnum online
You should play 4Story
Regnum has a warzone like guild wars 2 but gw2 its better imo i used to play regnum a lot but the leveling system sucks really hard
Try to play Eldevin next video
Regnum sounds MORE like Dark Age of Camelot than WoW, both of which i played... might have to try Regnum as a F2P option, but lets face it, as much as i played both WoW and DAoC, id rather play the originals...
Woot!
Mostly Myself Only Really Playing Game
I am probably one of the players with more hours played in Regnum, and if only it had a decent administration... It had a pretty unique RvR/PvP which you dont see very often in MMOs, and the community was good back in the day. As I said, the company did many mistakes like abandoning their main project (Regnum) in order to create some others like "Quantum League" which LITERALLY DIED in months, and leaving the game in the hands of the current Developer, who hasnt played the game in YEARS now, destroyed the game balance, since, well, he doesnt know anything about the meta, made it more pay to win every time, banned a lot of people for literally nothing, doesnt listen to advices, didnt make a single update in years in order to help the game (they promised a rework for leveling that never came into the game), and I could continue the whole day. This seems like a classic hate comment, but I can asure you not many people loved that game like I did (since 2007) and it had sooo many potential, it could have been muuuch more, and everyone who played Regnum back in the day knows this, but the truth is it was kill*d by their own company, and it has """""survived""""" until now just for its community which, unfortunately, is non existing by now.
Your videos are good, stop trying to make them look like Rye's content.
GOGOGOGO
El ultimo juego se ve como una droga a la cual no debería entrar porque no podría salir ni con ayuda
Are you interested in going for MMO dumpster diving outside of steam?
I have in the past, but yes these games are not really restricted to steam, this video just happened to only be games found on steam
@@Waydots take a look into Bounty Bay Online, pirate themed runescape like MMo, maybe it'll float your boat :)
eve online ;)
Love the outro music Waydot.
I know what u mean about the chibi graphics...
Just remind me of the cringiest person at a con that u know has a hard drive full of lolli
Rift exist too still and that games really dead too
Still playing Warhammer on a privat server xd
